Pure Cinematic Magic at YSK! 🎬From cool pop-up cinema vibes to bold climate conversations, African Films for African Schools lit up the Young Scientists Kenya 8th National Science & Technology Exhibition at Sunshine School!

Yesternight, 300+ brilliant young scientists — from junior to senior schools across Kenya — experienced two powerful climate-focused films:

The Chameleon Corridors 🦎 by Jigar Ganatra — a stunning journey into Tanzania’s Eastern Arc Mountains, home to rare chameleon species, and the community regenerating nature.

Searching for Amani 📽️ by Debra Aroko & Nicole Gormley — the gripping story of a 13-year-old aspiring journalist whose search for truth in Kenya’s largest wildlife conservancy uncovers climate injustice.

These films sparked bold post-screening conversations on climate justice, forest restoration, and how science & tech can drive solutions for communities across Africa.

Big thanks to our collaborators: Tunga Africa, Docubox - The East African Documentary Film Fund, Climate Story Lab Africa and Young Scientists Kenya

The Climate Storytelling Impact Lab – School Edition is now live at Ruaraka High School! This dynamic two-day training follows the Kenya National Drama and Film Festival 2025 , where Ruaraka High emerged as 2nd Runners Up in the Climate Storytelling category.

Students from the film, drama, journalism, and environmental clubs are being equipped with skills in:

We’re proud to see the next generation use storytelling to spotlight environmental challenges and drive meaningful change.
