It was started in 2005 to enable the University to actively participate and contribute to the achievement of sustainable development in the developing countries through joint partnerships with international, regional and national ins

titutions, as well as local government departments, private entrepreneurs, NGOs, and other academic institutions. It aims to provide the much-needed impetus for research, knowledge, awareness and solutions to sustainable development in Eastern African communities
