In the heart of the city, where streets were busy and dreams often felt too big for young hands to hold, a small group of dancers came together with one powerful belief: mindset matters. That belief became Motivated Mindset Dancers.
What started as simple dance practices quickly grew into something deeper. The studio was not just a place to learn steps—it became a safe space. A place where shy children found confidence, where broken spirits found healing, and where every beat of music reminded them that their dreams were valid.
Each dancer came with a different story. Some danced to escape hardship, some to express emotions they couldn’t put into words, and others simply because dance made them feel free. Motivated Mindset Dancers welcomed them all, teaching not only choreography, but discipline, teamwork, leadership, and self-belief.
Through rehearsals under the sun, laughter-filled sessions, and moments of exhaustion, they learned to lift one another. When one dancer felt weak, another stood strong. When one fell, the whole family helped them rise again. That is what made them special—they danced as one heart.
Beyond the studio walls, Motivated Mindset Dancers became a light in the community. They used their talent to inspire, to advocate for mental health, environmental care, and education, showing that art can change lives. Every performance carried a message: where you come from does not define where you can go.
Today, Motivated Mindset Dancers are more than a crew—they are a family built on love, purpose, and resilience. Their story continues with every child who walks into the studio unsure, and walks out believing in themselves.
And as the music plays on, so does their mission: to dance with meaning, to move with purpose, and to inspire the world—one step at a time. ✨💃🏾🕺🏾

We are calling for help.
Motivated Mindset Dancers Studio might be forced to close by the end of this month.

We are trying to raise $700 to clear our rent arrears and keep our safe space alive.
For years, we have survived on faith, small grants, and the kindness of strangers who believed in our vision. But since the recent funding cuts in Africa, everything has changed.

Today, we host victims of fire outbreaks and children from the slums — little souls who come here to dance, to dream, and to heal. Every day, they walk in with light in their eyes, but lately… I’ve been scared that the doors they walk through might soon close forever.

For four long months, we have fought silent battles — unpaid rent, cancelled classes, broken equipment, and sleepless nights wondering how much longer we can hold on.
It breaks me to look into the eyes of the children who trust us, who believe this studio is their home — because it is.

This place is not just walls and mirrors.
It is a sanctuary of hope.
A home for children escaping pain and poverty.
A heartbeat of forgotten dreams.

I have written countless messages, made endless calls, and prayed for a miracle.
But help has been slow, and time is running out.

If you are reading this, please don’t scroll past.
Your support could keep this dream alive.
Your donation, no matter how small, could save our dance studio and give these children another reason to believe.

👉

Your donation will help us achieve our mission of empowering communities around the world through the development and sharing of HHC's cultural resources to help artists, youth and thought-leaders support grassroots initiatives with culturally-informed education towards social change. This donation t...

On Monday, Motivated Mindset Dancers Studio came out loud and proud at Kenyatta University on KUTV. We spoke our hearts out, calling for strategic funding, partnerships, and collaborations with the government, organizations, and NGOs to help sustain our dance studio.

This bold step is not just about us — it makes our journey easier and ensures that our voices, dreams, and impact become more visible.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of this brave move in our lives, especially Titus Doc and Lupita. 🙏❤️

Together, we believe in a brighter tomorrow through dance, creativity, and resilience.

Motivated Mindset Dancers – A Huruma Story

Where It All Began

Founded by Brian Otieno Owino, a young man from Huruma who grew up with an unshakable passion for dance.

Despite challenges — limited resources, parental skepticism, and a tough environment — he held onto the belief that art could be a pathway out of hopelessness.

The group started with a few local kids gathering in open spaces to practice moves, often barefoot, dodging rough terrain and distractions.

---

Why in Huruma?

Huruma is a densely populated informal settlement, often associated with poverty, unemployment, and limited youth opportunities.

Brian saw many young people turning to drugs, crime, and hopelessness.

Dance became the safe space — a positive alternative to the streets, a way to keep the youth engaged and dreaming.

---

From Pavement to Studio

Early sessions were held in open yards, on rough floors, or in borrowed community halls.

Over time, through determination, small grants, and community support, Motivated Mindset Dancers Studio was established — the first in Huruma to blend dance training with mental health support for youth.

---

Impact

Over 100 children and teenagers have passed through the program.

The studio has represented Huruma in local and international competitions.

It has won multiple awards, but more importantly, it has kept kids in school and away from crime.

They’ve also started outreach in schools and collaborated with mental health organizations to run creative therapy sessions.

---

Current Struggle

With recent funding cuts in Africa, the studio is facing rent arrears and risk of closure.

Despite this, they continue to train, mentor, and perform — relying on donations, partnerships, and sheer willpower.
