Together, we create sustainable livelihoods & fight poverty by empowering Women & Youths in marginalized communities through education, smart farming, clean water, healthcare & environmental conservation. At The Village Trust, everyone is a partner in the fight against poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy and ignorance. TVT is a community based non-profit organization whose main objective is to em

power villagers, especially women and youth, to address their challenges through appropriate interventions, which include; supporting income generating initiatives; social mobilization; training and capacity building. TVT also supports awareness raising campaigns against gender violence, female ge***al mutilation, child labour and bad governance. Thus TVT activities directly contribute to the fulfillment of the first millennium development goal, which is to “eradicate extreme poverty and hunger” by targeting the most marginalized groups in the rural villages.

CELEBRATING GROWTH AT TVT EDUCATION CENTER

Since its launch, TVT Education Center has experienced remarkable growth over the recent past, steadily expanding its reach and impact to childrean in the local rural areas. We now offering education from Playgroup up to Grade 6 and currently with over 450 pupils. We thank God for Everything.

This organic growth has been due to our strong commitment to reducing the inequality gap by providing quality education to childrean in rural areas and creating opportunities for children within our community. Through consistent effort and dedication, the center continues to nurture young learners and lay a solid foundation for their future.

We appreciate the collective efforts of partners, educators, parents, and the community whose support has made this progress possible. Together, we continue to invest in education as a key driver of sustainable development and empowerment.

As various parts of Meru county continoues to receive heavy rainfall, TVT team, led by our CEO, has distributed planting materials to many target households who havent planted anything yet due to the ongoing economic challenges affecting access to quality inputs.

TVT – Linking Up Development Partners

Over the past month, TVT received a consignment of over 13.5 tonnes of certified hybrid bean seeds from Amiran Kenya ltd Ltd to support local households affected by unfavourable economic conditions and unable to access quality planting materials.

This timely support has enabled the distribution of seeds to vulnerable households during the current planting season, addressing critical gaps in access caused by prevailing economic challenges. The intervention is contributing to improved agricultural productivity, enhanced livelihoods, and increased community resilience.

This programme is being implemented by TVT in partnership with Seed Programs International (SPI). Finally on behalf of the beneficiary households, we would like to thank Amiran K Ltd for support and the long time strategic partnership over the recent past in helping us promote smart, sustainable, community-driven development.

TVT – Waldensian Smart Farming Project

This week, the TVT team, led by our CEO, visited Anjira Village in Athiru Gaiti Ward (Igembe South) to conduct training on sustainable farming methods and distribute planting materials to support internally displaced persons and other vulnerable households within the community.

Since the onset of the rainy season, many families have been unable to access quality planting materials due to ongoing economic challenges. In response, this intervention seeks to enhance access to essential inputs, enabling affected households to restore their livelihoods and improve food security.

The project is being implemented by TVT in partnership with PCN and is funded by the Waldensian Churches in Italy.

TVT remains committed to working collaboratively with partners to promote sustainable recovery, strengthen resilience, and empower communities.

Today, at Amugenti Village in Kanuni Ward (Igembe South), TVT team led by our CEO conducted smart farmimg training to the locals and distributed plantimg materials such as beans, maize and french beans to the target beneficiary farmers as planting season continues.

This initiative is being implemented by TVT in partnership with SPI from USA.

The project aims to strengthen food security, improve livelihoods, and promote sustainable agricultural practices within the community.

SUPPORTING VULNERABLE HPUSEHOLDS THROUGH SMART FARMING.

TVT has received bean seeds from Storm Seeds and Seed Programs International (SPI–USA) to support vulnerable families during the current planting season.

Smart Farming Support for Nkiluthu Households

TVT recently trained selected household representatives in Nkiluthu on smart farming techniques to promote sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture. Following the training, the households were provided growbags to help them kick-start their smart farming journey.

This initiative enables families to grow food efficiently using limited space and water, improving household food security, nutrition, and livelihoods. 📚 Supporting Education at Nkiluthu Primary School

TVT recently supported learners at Nkiluthu Primary School through the distribution of reading materials aimed at promoting literacy and improving access to learning resources.
