To my dear friends and family,

Today I’m writing with urgency and care as part of National Head Start Awareness efforts. Head Start, an organization I’ve been honored to work alongside for over 20 years, is currently facing devastating funding cuts that could impact more than 1 million families nationwide.

Through my nonprofit, Open Minds, we’ve partnered with Head Start programs to offer special education support, social-emotional learning through yoga and mindfulness, gardening, and art to more than 5,000 families. This isn’t just a program—it’s a lifeline. Head Start provides children and families with a safe, nurturing, and loving environment. It is not just daycare—it is community. It is family.

Each day, I witness the incredible dedication of Head Start teachers and administrators who pour their hearts into building a better future for our children. This program is essential, and it’s worth fighting for.

Please take a moment to make your voice heard by signing this letter of support:

I’d also love to hear your stories—how has Head Start touched your life or your community? Feel free to comment or DM me with your reflections.

Below are some snapshots from yesterday’s Little Yogi session at Noland Village, a volunteer program we’ve offered weekly for the past 11 years. It’s always the highlight of our week.

May we all continue to grow in health, safety, and love.
