A TRIBUTE TO MY GRANDMOTHER
It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that I bid farewell to my beloved grandmother, who peacefully departed from this world today.
Grandma was more than just a grandmother to us—she was our guide and a pillar of love in our lives. At her home in Uloma Village, Lifunga, near Ukwala, she opened her doors and her heart to us when we were children. With brother Toti, sister Alice and Maureen, we grew up under her loving care and wise guidance.
She taught us the values that continue to shape our lives today: respect, humility, hard work, and kindness. Many mornings began before sunrise as she led us to the shamba, teaching us the dignity of honest work and the importance of responsibility. Those lessons remain etched in our hearts and will continue to guide us throughout our lives.
Grandma's love was evident in the simple but meaningful ways she cared for us. Her home was always warm and welcoming, filled with laughter, delicious meals, plenty of eggs, and the occasional chicken she lovingly prepared for us. Through those acts of generosity, she showed us what unconditional love truly means.
A devoted member of the choir at Ukwala Catholic Church, Grandma was a woman of deep faith. She made sure we attended Mass and nurtured in us a strong spiritual foundation. Her dedication to God, her church, and her family was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Today, we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman whose love touched countless lives. Though she is no longer with us physically, her teachings, her faith, her kindness, and the beautiful memories we shared will remain with us forever.
Grandma, thank you for every sacrifice you made, every lesson you taught, every prayer you offered, and every act of love you showed us. You have left footprints on our hearts that time can never erase.
You will be deeply missed by your children, grandchildren, relatives, friends, and all whose lives you touched.
Rest in eternal peace Dana 🌹
