🎨🎼 **WHY CREATIVE ARTS IS NO LONGER OPTIONAL UNDER CBC**

For many years, Creative Arts was viewed as an "extra"—something learners did after academics. Under Kenya's Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC), that thinking has changed.

Today, Creative Arts is a core learning area because it develops competencies that every learner needs for success in school, work, and life.

When learners participate in music, drama, dance, visual arts, and other creative activities, they are building far more than artistic talent. They are developing:

✅ Communication and presentation skills
✅ Confidence and self-expression
✅ Teamwork and leadership
✅ Discipline, perseverance, and resilience

Artificial Intelligence can assist with generating music, images, and videos—but it cannot replace human imagination, emotional connection, ethical judgment, collaboration, or live performance. That is why schools must intentionally nurture creativity alongside academic excellence.
