The Ramgarhia Youth Association (RYA), in conjunction with Guru Nanak Gurmat Patshalla, successfully hosted the first-ever Sikhi Simplified Seminar at Ramgarhia Gurdwara Sahib, Pangani. The event marked the culmination of a year-long survey initiative that began in June 2025, with the objective of understanding the relationship between Kenyan Sikh youth and their faith, and identifying ways to design programs, initiatives, and institutional interventions that strengthen youth engagement with Sikhi.

The seminar attracted more than 250 attendees, including prominent institutional leaders and delegations from across the country. The event was graced by our Honourable Chief Guest, Mrs. Mandeep Kaur Sound, and her family, whose presence and support greatly contributed to the success of the occasion. In her address, Mrs. Sound emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting the Punjabi language as a key pillar of Sikh identity. Team RYA extends its sincere gratitude to the Sound family for their encouragement and support. The event brought together youth and community leaders from diverse regions of Kenya, fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration.

A key highlight of the seminar was the presentation of the Sikh Youth Survey findings by RYA member Jaskiran Kaur Seehra. This was followed by insightful discussions from distinguished speakers Giani Ravinder Singh Ji, Govind Singh, Kuljeet Singh Rupra, and Jaskiran Kaur Matharu, who explored ways to simplify the understanding of Sikhi and thoughtfully addressed questions from the audience. The session was skillfully moderated by Mr. Amritpal Singh Rajbans.

The event was further enriched by the participation of students from Guru Nanak Gurmat Patshalla. The students delivered beautiful and synchronized devotional singing during the opening ceremony, showcased creative artwork, displayed an impressive LEGO model of the Gurdwara, and entertained attendees with a light-hearted and engaging skit.

The Chairman of RYA, Mr. Himath Singh Gahir, together with Team RYA, extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended the seminar.

The Ramgarhia Youth Association, in collaboration with Siri Gurdwara Sahib Thika and DAWA Ltd, proudly served over 1,000 hot meals to the children of Joytown Secondary School. In addition, a medical camp was conducted for both the primary and secondary school students, providing essential healthcare services and support to the children.

Team RYA is deeply grateful for such collaborative initiatives aimed at supporting the less fortunate members of society. We sincerely appreciate the generosity and commitment of our sponsors and partners who made this initiative possible.

We extend our heartfelt thanks for their invaluable support and look forward to continuing to work together towards the betterment of society and the welfare of the community.
