The Kagan Open Troop

On Friday, 25th September, Kagan Open Troop, together with Scouts from different Troops and formations, converged at Omoche Village to stand with the family of our departed brother and fellow Scout, Brighton Ojwang Brightone Jakababa .

We came not only to condole with the family, but also to honour Brighton and give him a respectful and dignified send-off in true Scouting spirit.

In moments of grief, the Scout family stands together. Through our presence, prayers, service, and solidarity, we reminded the family that they were not alone.

Brighton may have taken his final journey, but the values of service, brotherhood, compassion, and community that define Scouting will continue to live on.

Rest peacefully, Scout Brighton Ojwang. You will forever remain part of the Scout family. ⚜️🕊️

🕊️ PEACE DOESN’T BEGIN WITH LEADERS. IT BEGINS WITH US.

Today, 20 young people took to the streets of Rangwe; not just to walk, but to make a statement: we chose dialogue, unity, tolerance, and peace.

Under the theme “Empowering Young People to Promote Dialogue and Peaceful Communities,” Kagan Open Troop, together with Rangwe Sub-County Scouts Association, engaged traders, young people, and community members at Rangwe Market.

We concluded at Rangwe Police Station, where we engaged the OCS on the role of Scouts as Messengers of Peace and reaffirmed our commitment to sensitizing communities on the importance of peace as Kenya prepares for the upcoming General Elections.

The walk ended. The mission continues.

Let us empower young people to become voices of peace, bridges of dialogue, and ambassadors of unity. 🕊️🤝🇰🇪

Due to the passing on of one of our own, The Kagan Open Troop Peace Campaign scheduled for 13th September 2026 has been postponed to 27th September 2026 at Rangwe Market, 10:00 AM.

This will give us enough time to mourn, stand with the family, and coordinate a befitting send-off for one of our own. 🙏

🕊️ OFFICIAL NOTICE – THE KAGAN OPEN TROOP

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Rover Brighton Ojwang, a student at Kenya Highlands University and a valued member of The Kagan Open Troop.

His passing is a great loss to his family, friends, fellow scouts, and the entire Troop fraternity.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time. May God grant them strength and comfort.
