ZanaAfrica

ZanaAfrica We envision a world where girls in East Africa live healthy, safe, educated lives while defining their own purpose.

Supporting programs in Kenya for nearly a decade, ZanaAfrica Foundation is a US-based 501c3 who supports thousands of girls each year with sanitary pads and reproductive health education, while leading global policy and advocacy efforts to de-stigmatize menstruation. We work arm-in-arm with our Kenya-based social business partner, ZanaAfrica Group who manufactures and distributes high quality femi

nine hygiene products through the marketplace using aspirational brands designed for women by women, creating safe spaces to learn about health and reclaim dignity.

๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’› At ZanaAfrica, we believe that gender equity means creating space for every young person to grow with confidence, knowledge, and careโ€”including boys.

Too often, boys are left out of conversations about health and rights. Yet, working with boys benefits everyone. When boys have accurate information and challenge harmful norms, girls benefit too. Schools are safer, peer relationships improve, and communities grow in understanding and respect.

This year, weโ€™ve reached over 2,000 boys in Kenya with health and life skills education, through schools, community partners, and even WhatsApp through our NiaHealthlink. They're learning about consent, mental health, healthy masculinity, and how to be allies for equality.

Because when boys are empowered, everyone benefits. Check out our recent blog post to learn more! https://www.zanaafrica.org/news-and-blog/working-with-boys-for-gender-equality
