At our September Monthly Gather, Rev. Tom reminded us of something easy to forget in the pursuit of excellence: the things we build in the marketplace — our careers, our ventures, our influence — were never meant to be carried alone.

We can design, strategize, and work hard, but it's prayer that sustains the vision, and community that holds us up when the weight gets heavy. Even the most capable leader needs people to stand with them.

Nehemiah's pattern still works: a burden, then prayer, then networking, then mobilizing, then guarding. Great things are built in that order. 🏗️

Nehemiah didn't rush to the wall. He started with a burden, took it to God in prayer, and only then moved to the people, the resources, and the work itself. Every step had its place.

That was one of the key takeaways from Rev. Tom Otieno at our September Monthly Gather, where we reflected on being Called to Create and called to lead.

Vision and planning are not the opposite of faith. They are how faith becomes structure.

At our September Monthly Gather, Rev. Tom Otieno reminded us that we are called to create and called to lead, and that building well starts with designing well. Faith doesn't skip the blueprint. It honors it.

Slackness may appear harmless—a delayed task, compromised standard, neglected responsibility, or “I’ll do it later.” But over time, what we repeatedly neglect can become what we eventually destroy.

As a Kingdom Stakeholder in the Marketplace, stewardship demands diligence.
Our work, businesses, careers, relationships, and opportunities are entrusted to us by God. We honour Him not only through what we accomplish, but through the manner in which we work.

Don't let negligence destroy what diligence could build.

Work with excellence. Build with purpose. Steward what God has entrusted to you.
