🌍 World Breastfeeding Week 2026 🤱💚

This World Breastfeeding Week, Embrace Change for Africa joins the global community in celebrating the power of breastfeeding to give every child the healthiest possible start in life.

Breastfeeding provides essential nutrition, strengthens a baby's immune system, promotes healthy growth and development, and fosters a unique bond between mother and child. It is one of the most effective ways to improve child survival and support lifelong health.

We also recognize that every breastfeeding journey is different. Mothers need encouragement, accurate information, and supportive families, workplaces, health facilities, and communities to successfully breastfeed.

As we commemorate this week, let us stand together to protect, promote, and support breastfeeding while ensuring that every mother has the care and support she deserves.

Together, we can build healthier families and stronger communities—one child at a time.

Day of the African Child 2026

Today, we join the rest of Africa in commemorating the Day of the African Child under the theme: "Planning and Budgeting for Children's Rights: Progress Since 2010."

At Embrace Change for Africa, we recognize that every child deserves access to quality education, healthcare, protection, and opportunities to reach their full potential. As we reflect on the progress made, we also acknowledge that many children across Africa continue to face challenges including poverty, violence, inequality, and limited access to essential services.

This day reminds us of our collective responsibility to listen to children's voices, invest in their well-being, and create safe and supportive environments where they can thrive. Meaningful change happens when governments, organizations, communities, and families work together to put children's rights at the center of planning and decision-making.

Let us continue to champion the rights of every child and build an Africa where no child is left behind.

As we prepare to commemorate DAC 2026, we pause to remember the many children across Africa who are missing, separated from their families, trafficked, displaced, or forgotten by the systems meant to protect them.
Every missing child represents a broken connection, a grieving family, and a community called to action. Children deserve safety, love, protection, education, and the opportunity to grow in environments free from violence, exploitation, and neglect.
At Embrace Change for Africa, we stand with families, caregivers, communities, and partners in raising awareness about child protection and strengthening collective efforts to keep every child safe. As we mark the Day of the African Child, let us recommit ourselves to creating communities where every child is seen, heard, protected, and valued.
