Earlier, we joined Centre For Multiparty Democracy at an intergenerational roundfire meeting of young women aspirants, graced by the Minority Whip and Suba North MP, Millie Mabona,.
Dissecting into the current Kenyan political terrain, we shared real experiences of challenges and wins for women in politics. Drawing from her book, 'Rig or Be Rigged' where she narrates her political journey, it was an enlightening evening with stories that reflects the truths of power and the need for political forte.

As we mark Day of Democracy, We continue to expand opportunities to young women within our network to learn, share and network. We believe in the power of intergenerational exhanges and acknowledge the strengths of the seasoned women who continue to inspire us to break ceilings.

This meeting was hosted at the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung offices in Kenya .

The Girls Assembly 2026!!

Our young women showed up to co-create, connect and celebrate. Convened under the theme: Unleashing the Authentic Feminine Leadership, the event attracted girls and young women from various background in Nairobi.

Speaking at the event was our Executive Director, Wendy Aura who spoke about Leadership and Technology Facilitated Gender Based Violence, emphasizing on the need for young women to show up at decision making spaces.

The 6th edition underscores the potential of young women to design and implement ideas that provides platforms to amplify their voices.

In the past two days, we joined other stakeholders in the validation and review of the Early Warning and Early Response framework, led by FIDA-Kenya

The discussion centered on strategies to prevent, identify, monitor and respond to cases of Technology facilitated Gender Based Violence, especially for women on Public and political spaces ahead of the 2027 general elections.

We stress-tested the Golden Hour Matrix, strengthened the four referral pathways for Psycosocial, technical, legal and physical safety support and explored the commitments and standard Operating procedures for a cordinated response.

We are committed to influencing policies on the issues that create barriers to young women meaningful participation in leadership.

We participated in the second phase of the WROs Consultative meeting to discuss the Early Preparedness of Women Ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Building on the previous engagements, we renew our commitment to position young women to meaningfully participate in political leadership. Together with the other stakeholders, we drew action plans on early pre-party nomination preparations, political party positioning, campaign financing, addressing the persistent electoral violence and voter mobilisation.

It was worth noting that the WROs are focused on moving away from just talk to action. We continue to contribute to important national discourse that advance gender inclusion in political leadership and decision making.

Earlier, we joined other stakeholders in a convening by FIDA-Kenya for the review and validation of the Early Warning Framework on Digital Violence Against Women. This meeting is timely, with preparations of women political participation ahead of next general elections.

The participants took stock of progress, gave recommendations and reviewed the reporting, response mechanisms of digital violence.

We continue to contribute meaningfully to policy dialogues and strategies to protect and promote safe digital spaces.
