The STEM Impact Center Kenya is a mobile lab that provides a creative space and resources for learners and educators to explore science, technologies, engineering and mathematics (STEM), computer science, creative coding, and physical computing.

On Saturday, 13th June 2026, Faith Ventures Christian School came alive with creativity, curiosity and innovation during an exciting STEM Day engagement. Students explored the world of technology through coding via VEX 123, Scratch programming, EV3 and VEX IQ robotics and afterwards participated in engaging trivia sessions.

A day filled with learning, teamwork and discovery empowering young minds to build, code and create the future.

The WRO Competition 2026 under the theme “Robots Meet Culture” at Braeside Lavington on May 09 was a remarkable celebration of innovation, creativity and teamwork. Young innovators showcased exceptional talent across all categories, with Braestar 1 emerging as winners in the Elementary Category, followed by The Hornets as first runners-up and Mechaminds as second runners-up. In the Junior Category, Tomorrow’s Innovators claimed the top spot, with Robo-TRA taking first runners-up and Nano Bots securing second runners-up. The Senior Category saw The Zeninz crowned champions, while Quantum-TRA and Majembe Warriors proudly took first and second runners-up positions respectively. Congratulations to all participating teams for inspiring us with brilliant ideas, cultural storytelling and groundbreaking robotics solutions that truly brought the theme to life!

Just a snippet of what unfolded at the WRO Explorer Competition on May 9th 2026 at@BRAESIDELAVINGTON as teams across Elementary, Junior, and Senior categories came together to showcase creativity, teamwork and brilliant problem-solving skills in a stiff competition through robotics under Robots Meet Culture theme. From bold ideas to impressive builds, the competition was a true celebration of young minds shaping the future of STEM.

Day 4 brought bold ideas on waste management to life as teams took the stage to present projects shaped by days of creativity, coding and collaboration. Each solution reflected innovative thinking and a strong commitment to tackling environmental challenges through technology.
A rigorous judging process spotlighted the most impactful and well-executed projects, with top teams in each category earning well-deserved recognition for their ingenuity and relevance. It marked a powerful close to a journey driven by purpose, problem-solving and the ambition to create sustainable change.

Day 3 was all about ex*****on, refinement and bringing ideas full circle. Students pushed their creativity to the limit; building, coding, testing and perfecting every detail of their projects. What began as concepts has now transformed into fully developed solutions, ready to be showcased with confidence and purpose.

With final touches in place, teams stand prepared to present innovations that reflect not just technical skill but critical thinking, collaboration and a commitment to solving real-world challenges.

Momentum carried into Day 2 as students pushed further into coding for robotics and app development, refining their skills and building more intelligent, responsive solutions. With the introduction of their final projects under the theme of waste management, innovation took on real-world relevance: ideas evolving into practical solutions aimed at addressing everyday environmental challenges.Collaboration deepened as teams brainstormed, tested and improved their concepts, blending creativity with purpose.
In the afternoon, teachers joined the experience through an engaging OctoStudio session, where they designed and built their first projects, embracing hands-on learning and innovation alongside their students.

Day 1-
The first day was all about introduction to the programs and introduction to basic coding where curiosity turned into creation as young innovators from Kiambu and Murang’a counties immersed themselves in a hands-on STEM experience at Alliance Girls High School. Ideas came to life through VEX IQ, Spike and EV3 robotics while creativity expanded into Octostudio, Web Development, MIT App Inventor, Code.org and Arduino.
Each session sparked collaboration, problem solving and confidence building thus setting the tone for a transformative journey in technology and innovation.
