The AAQS Africa Association of Quantity Surveyors General Assembly 2024 in conjunction with International Cost Engineering Council ICEC World Congress 2024 will be held from 18 -23 October in Accra, Ghana hosted by the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS).

The theme of the Congress is 'Re-imagining the Future of Construction Cost Management: Sustainability & The Digital Frontier'.

Venue for the meetings and Congress will be the Alisa Swiss Spirit Hotel also referred to as the Alisa Hotel North Ridge.

On Friday, a group of students from the Technical University of Kenya (TUK) , University of Nairobi( UON) and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) attended a students industrial visit at Furniture International factory located off Mombasa Road.

Furniture International is a Kenyan Furniture Company that has been in existence for over 50 years. Their products include Office Furniture, Home Furniture, Joinery and Fixtures. They specialize in custom making of furniture.

Throwback to 2nd December 2023 when we had our second edition of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We visited the Ongata Rongai Special Home Care that cares children with CP (Celebral Palsy).

Much appreciation goes out to our able partners
for their generous contribution towards this noble initiative and for crowning the day with cake.

Not forgetting individuals who sent donation and gave up their time to attend and spend the day with the children; indeed such a memorable day for them.

Towards the end of this year we will also have a similar event to give back to the community and make an impact in the society that we live in.

We have frequently been asked about our role within the Architectural Association of Kenya as Quantity Surveyors.

The theme this year is dubbed 'Giving back to the society'. It is a pre-event to the CSR to be held later in the year.
