A Mother’s Pain, A Survivor’s Story, A Call for Hope
In 2021, Mary Wanjiru Nyambura from Egerton, Nakuru County, left Kenya with a heart full of dreams and hope for her children’s future. She travelled to Saudi Arabia in search of greener pastures, but instead, she met the darkest chapter of her life.
Her employer, in a moment of cruelty, pushed her from the second floor of a building. Mary’s body was shattered, her spirit almost broken. For 8 long months, her family lived with the devastating news that she was dead. Imagine their shock and relief when she was finally rescued and brought back to Kenya — alive, but disabled, with nothing left.
Her return was bittersweet. While her family rejoiced to see her again, her husband walked away, leaving her alone with three children — one daughter and two sons — and a future clouded with pain and uncertainty.
Yet, despite it all, Mary is a fighter. She continues to live, to push on, and to love her children with every piece of strength she has left.
At Bold Foundation, we believe no mother should suffer alone. We are stepping in to help Mary rebuild her life by:
-Building and plastering her home, and fitting it with floor tiles for a dignified space.
-Paying for her SHA so she can attend physiotherapy sessions and restore her strength.
But we cannot do this alone.
Through your kindness and support, we can give Mary a home full of warmth, a chance to heal, and most importantly — a reason to smile again.
Let us come together to rewrite Mary’s story from one of pain to one of dignity, hope, and restoration.
