Millions of young people across Africa are growing up in the middle of a climate crisis, rising inequality, and systemic injustice, yet most of them have never been handed a single tool to understand what is happening, let alone how to respond to it.

That gap is exactly why AfriYouth Care Group exists. And it is exactly why we built this.

Introducing the 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝘿𝙂𝙨 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙅𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 𝙂𝙪𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙗𝙤𝙤𝙠 authored by our CEO & Founder, Gorffly Mokua, and designed specifically for secondary school students who deserve more than vague promises about "the future."

This is a 14-page, youth-friendly resource that does three things deliberately and well:

We kept it simple on purpose. Not because the subject is simple, but because accessibility is itself a form of justice.

The school rollout begins soon. As we prepare to take this into classrooms across the country, we are actively seeking partners: organizations, institutions, and corporates who are ready to help us scale this impact.

An initiative under AfriYouth Care Group, and authored by our CEO & Founder Gorffly Mokua, this guidebook is designed to equip young people especially secondary school students with a clear, practical understanding of:

✅ Climate action and climate justice
✅ Creative advocacy through poetry, storytelling, and art

At AfriYouth Care Group, we recognize that and among young people remains low, despite the urgency of today’s challenges.

This simple, engaging 14-page resource is our response, bridging the gap between knowledge and action by breaking down how the evolved from the and translating them into practical, youth-friendly steps.

More than just a guidebook, it is a tool designed to support consistent, real-world action, because many young people want to make a difference, but often lack clear direction on where to start.

We intentionally made it simple and accessible so that students, teachers, and communities alike can understand the SDGs & take meaningful action.

We appreciate Youth for SDGs Kenya for supporting the printing of this guidebook and for their continued impactful work in advancing youth-led development.

In his closing remarks, the PS for Youth Affairs, creative economy, and sports, Hon Fikirini Jacobs delivered a powerful message: Africa’s youth are not a challenge to manage, but a resource to invest in. With the majority of Kenya’s population under 35, the realization of the SDGs depends on how effectively young people are engaged, not as participants, but as co-creators and decision-makers.

The work doesn’t end here. The Youth Declaration will be presented. The IGAD Youth Forum for Peace will create new spaces for engagement. And the momentum must continue beyond this week.
The clock is ticking, the responsibility is shared, and the time is now.

As we approach 2027, the focus must now shift from dialogue to implementation, building accountable, inclusive, and peaceful institutions driven by youth engagement.

At 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐃𝐆𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, Day 3 opened with a screening of Battle for Laikipia, a documentary that refuses to let you look away.
62,000 acres, controlled by private ranches and conservancies, while pastoralist communities, whose ancestors walked this land for generations, are blocked by electric fences from accessing water during droughts.
This is what SDG 13 (Climate Action) looks like when it collides with SDG 16 (Peace & Justice)

When carbon markets and conservation initiatives are built on top of unresolved historical injustice, we aren't solving the climate crisis. We're deepening it.
Panel 1 (Safeguarding Our Common Future) and Panel 3 both drove home the same message from different directions:

Today, we celebrate Truphena Muthoni Hsc , a woman who didn’t just speak for the planet… she held onto it.

A Guinness World Record holder for the longest tree-hugging marathon, she turned a quiet act into a global message:
protect nature, because it protects us.

While many talk about , she became it, standing firm, embracing a tree for hours beyond limits, reminding us that the fight for our is deeply .

Her story teaches us something powerful:
Sometimes, the smallest act can inspire the the world to take action.

Sometimes the most important conversations happen when someone finally says the quiet part out loud. That was 𝐃𝐚𝐲 2 𝐨𝐟 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐃𝐆𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 2026, themed Prosperity: 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 & 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰.

The panels named what many young people live daily, youth participation is celebrated in theory, but undervalued in practice. Meaningful engagement is a design choice, and systems that take youth energy without returning real opportunity are not building prosperity; they are borrowing from it.

The harder truth followed: means nothing if access to it is still . Strong laws exist, but the gap between policy and lived reality is closed by awareness, community action, and everyone owning gender equality as a shared responsibility, not a women's issue

The work does not end when the panel does. 2030 is not far.

Day 1 of 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐃𝐆𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 2026 convened today at the Kenya School of Government in Nairobi.

Under the theme: 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐚𝐩: 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡-𝐋𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐃𝐆 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, the day's focus was on People, specifically SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), and SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being).

The sessions brought young people and leaders together in structured and work to identify practical, -driven approaches to SDG delivery. Discussions centered on the persistent implementation gaps and the concrete role young people can play in closing them before 2030.

The conversations were -focused, drawing on lived experience and policy insight to identify what it will actually take to close the gap before 2030
Four more days to go. Each session builds toward a youth-led position that will inform broader SDG acceleration efforts.
