The mother of a missing Kenyan man known as DJ Snatcher has finally been reunited with her son after four years of searching for him.
His mother had searched everywhere, including several mortuaries, believing that her son could have died. She had eventually lost hope of ever seeing him again.
The breakthrough came after Mosiria found DJ Snatcher sleeping by the roadside near the Nyayo Stadium Roundabout. Concerned about his condition, Mosiria approached him, spoke to him and later shared his story online in an effort to locate his family.
Some people accused Mosiria of chasing clout, but his efforts eventually paid off when the video reached DJ Snatcher's mother. She contacted him, and the family was finally traced.
The mother revealed that her son had once been a successful DJ who had even hosted Diamond Platnumz. He owned a car and a farm and had a wife and children before mental health challenges changed his life.
After the emotional reunion, Mosiria and others convinced DJ Snatcher to accept help. He was taken to Mathari Mental Hospital, where he will receive professional care and treatment.
The story is a reminder that behind many people living on the streets is a family desperately searching for them. Mental health challenges can affect anyone, regardless of their success or background.
Sometimes, one person choosing to care can help reunite a family and give someone another chance at life.
