Our Story

EYE CHILDREN CENTRE A Community Org. was born in 2011 a Vision and Mission to bring relief to Kenya Slum Children and Youths moulding and Modelling them into useful members of the society.A Community overwhelmed by Poverty,unemployment,semi literacy,and HIV/AIDS pandemic.The Children Centre is Situated behind St. Mary’s Mukuru Catholic Mission, in Mukuru Kwa Njenga Embakasi Nairobi Kenya. The centre that is registered and started with one orphaned girl now has 50 children with 18 staying in our children home and who are fully under our care and many tens of children indirectly under our umbrella support program with 5 Volunteers who serve periodically . The CENTRE started EYE Childrens Home /Learning Centre 2013.ACTIVITIES ; Feeding programs, Education programs pre-primary, Secondary & Tartiary program [Sponsorship program],clothing, sheltering the homeless challenged children, games and sports, Talent Nurturing,peer education, Child Rights Awareness forums,Adolescents smooth transition,Health Education & HIV/AIDS awareness campaign, VBS,Community cleanliness ,Educational and fun days outside Mukuru slums,. CHALLENGES;[ 1]. Lack of space /land to anchor the project and poor unbearable shelter, toilets, bathrooms, piped water+electricity bills [2]. Lack of Funding the programs [feeding, , clothing+beddings, school fees for school going children, school stationary/supplies, out door activities- field trips, lack of funds to hire qualified Staff]. [3] Transport /Orphanage Van [4]Lack of Trainings to our Volunteer Staff . FUTURE PLANS; To partner with like minded Organizations, Charities, Financial Institutions, Christian Organizations,Families, Individuals to buy a land ,raise modern structures, equip the centre with all necessaryfacilities , establish sponsorship /full scholarship Program to needy children, Enhance Learning programmes at Eye Children Centre, Establish Co-Curricula Activities like swimming pool, Tennis coats, football field,Atheletic track, etc to nurture children talents, establish diary farming on Zero grazing unit, Drill borehole mineral water which will serve children and community,establish fully integrated learning centre from primary ,secondary and Tartiary /Technical training centre, Widows Economic Empowerment Centre ,Urban Farming[green house farming], open Community Development Research Centre.
