LEFTI exists to be on mission with God towards the development of mature, empowered and transforming, well-functioning and self-sufficient persons and communities in Kenya and beyond in all areas of life plus the needed quality leadership development.

As our students prepare to return to school for the third term, we are grateful for a meaningful and full holiday season.

Here’s a glimpse of what took place across our centers:

📖 Debrief: We reflected with the children on the past term, celebrating the highs, identifying the lows, and identifying ways they can grow and improve in the coming term.

📚 Holiday Tuition: Our college students stepped in to facilitate tuition, creating an opportunity for them to give back in supporting the younger students academically.

🎓 Career Conversations: We spent more intentional time with our candidates discussing their interests, aspirations, and dreams, helping them gain greater clarity and prepare for their next steps.

💌 Advocate Letters: The students received letters from their advocates and also had the opportunity to write and share updates with them.

🏠 Home Visits: Our team visited the homes, giving us an opportunity to connect with their families and better understand their home environments.

🎓 College Students Debrief: We met with our college students to discuss their semester, academic progress, attachments, and plans for the future.

🎒 Preparing Our 2025 High School Form 4 graduates (Equivalent to Grade 12): We spent time preparing those transitioning to college this September, helping them think through this next season and what it will require of them.

⛪ Church & VBS: The students continued to grow in their faith through church attendance and participation in Vacation Bible School.

❤️ Health Talks & Follow-Up: Health education sessions were conducted across all our centers, alongside follow-ups on individual health needs.

As they return to school, please pray with us for safe journeys, a fruitful third term, good health and protection, and peace and clarity for our Grade 6 (Elementary), Grade 9 (Middle School) and Form 4 (Equivalent to Grade 12) as they seat for the 2026 National Assessment/Exams in November.

We are grateful to everyone who continues to pray, give, encourage, and walk alongside these students. Thank you for being part of their journey.

📖 Kieni West Baptist Bible School| Cohort 3

Praise God for Cohort 3, with 10 students committed to growing and being equipped for ministry!

The July session brought together 45 participants representing 16 churches for a time of learning, fellowship, and spiritual growth.

We thank God for this opportunity to equip His church and raise faithful leaders.

Prayer Items:

🙏 Caroline Wanjiku, a college student from our Kiangondu Center sadly passed away on Tuesday. Please pray for comfort and strength for her family and loved ones as they prepare for her burial on Tuesday.

🙏 Pastor Patrick and his family; Patrick from First Love Baptist Church recently lost his mother. Please pray for him and his family as they grieve and prepare for her burial on Thursday.

🌱 Empowering Partnerships in Kieni West!

This August, Kieni West Baptist Churches hosted a Children Teachers Training Seminar, facilitated by a team from the Children Learning Material Center.

We praise God for the fruit of genuine, long-term partnership:

• The 18 churches covered the full cost of the seminar, demonstrating growing ownership and sustainable empowerment.

• The training was led by James, Pastor of Kiaragana Baptist Church, who is himself a product of mentorship and empowerment through Elijah and Bernard and a graduate of Kieni West Baptist Bible School.

• Bellevue Baptist Church continues to serve as a center of empowerment, providing space, accommodation, and meals for training.

The training covered Christian Doctrine II, Sermon Preparation & Delivery, and Introduction to Children & Youth Ministry.

What a joy to see years of investment producing local leaders who are now equipping others and strengthening their churches.

Praise God for the continued impact of the partnerships He has enabled!

🌿 School Holidays Are Here!

This holiday, our team and partnering churches will be walking alongside our OVC students through tuition, Bible Study, VBS, home visits, health talks, mentorship, and other activities designed to nurture every aspect of their growth.

Please keep our children, volunteers, and partnering churches in your prayers throughout this holiday as we continue investing in the lives of the next generation.

Watching advocates meet the children they have faithfully supported was truly unforgettable.

Putting a face to the letters, prayers, and stories is a beautiful reminder that sponsorship is about more than support; it's a relationship rooted in faith, hope, and love.

Together, we're investing in the holistic growth of each child, equipping them to become who God created them to be, regardless of their circumstances.

This is what hope looks like. This is what partnership makes possible!

We had an incredible one-day VBS at Pondo Baptist Church led by the student team from Grace Church SC, exploring the Fruit of the Spirit through Bible stories, skits, crafts, games, worship, singing, and dancing.

More than just a fun-filled day, it was a beautiful picture of the global Church serving together across cultures while equipping and empowering the local church to continue hosting VBS and reaching children in their community long after this mission is over.

We're thankful for every volunteer who made this day possible!

Our mission is underway!

What a joy to serve alongside a team of 22 parents and teenagers from Grace Church SC, together with Pondo Baptist Church and the local community.

We're building more than a house for Alex and his family; we're helping build hope, dignity, and a new beginning.

Thank you for your prayers as we continue sharing the love of Christ this week!

Fatherhood is God's design and a sacred calling. It goes beyond raising our own childre, it's about guiding, mentoring, and shaping the next generation toward godliness.

May God give every father wisdom, strength, discernment, and courage to lead sacrificially and faithfully for His glory.

June Prayer Needs 🙏

Please pray with us for:

1. Our Children – God's protection and guidance over our students in their various schools, and safe travels as they head home for their one-week midterm break.

2. The Upcoming July Mission Trip – Our partners from Grace Church SC as they prepare to travel to Kenya. Pray for provision, smooth preparations, safety, and fruitful ministry opportunities.

3. Gift Ombonya – One of our OVC children who has been unwell. Please pray for healing, strength, and a full recovery.

4. Kieni West Bible School (Cohort 3) – Pray for the students, instructors, and leadership as they continue growing in God's Word and preparing for ministry.
