On Saturday, Sino Girls JSS hosted our first mentorship session specifically tailored for Junior Secondary students. We later held an impactful mentorship engagement at Kituma Boys Secondary School, before concluding the weekend at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour (OLOPS) on Sunday in Voi Constituency.

As the education landscape evolves (CBE), so do we—remaining committed to guiding and inspiring the next generation.

Our sincere appreciation to the school administrations for welcoming us, and to our dedicated mentors for generously investing their time in shaping young minds.

Every student carries potential, but not every student has someone to help them see it.

We, Undugu Mentorship Initiative have offered ourselves to help students see their potential, gain confidence to dream bigger, gather courage to face challenges, and remain disciplined to stay the course.

Over the weekend, we visited Mghalu High School and Dr. Aggrey National School in Wundanyi Constituency and Mwasere Girls High School in Voi Constituency where we supported, encouraged and challenged the students to become as excellent as possible.

Sometimes, all it takes is one decision — to try.
To show up. To believe in yourself. To take that next small step.

We had the incredible honour of walking alongside students from six remarkable schools across Taita Taveta County as we concluded our Term Two School Mentorship Program.

Our journey began on Saturday, 19th July 2025, at Canon Kituri Secondary School. We then visited Kiwinda Secondary and Kaloleni Secondary on Wednesday, followed by Voi Precious Girls on Thursday. We wrapped up the week with uplifting sessions at Mwanga Secondary and Mwakitawa Girls yesterday.

Each school visit was a powerful reminder that mentorship isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about being present, listening deeply, and reminding young people that they matter and their dreams are valid.

We are immensely grateful to the teachers, students, and all partners who made these moments possible.

The journey continues — one school, one story, one student, one step at a time.

Every great achievement starts with a single decision—to try.

To try to wake up early, to revise one more time, to believe in yourself even when the journey feels tough. This was the clarion call to the students we mentored throughout last week.

We were able to mentor from Wednesday 9th June 2025 through to Sunday 13th June 2025 the following five schools; Bughuta JSS and Bughuta Secondary in Voi constituency, Kituma Secondary, Mwangoji Secondary and Murray Girls High School in Mwatate constituency.

Bughuta JSS was our maiden mentorship visit to Junior Secondary Schools as the country implements the new competency based curriculum (CBC). We will continue to offer ourselves for the betterment of educational outcomes within coast region.
