This is what nurturing talents to us real mean. We identify abilities in children when they are very young. We train encourage and build confidence in them by giving them a stage to stand on as we cheer them up. When they grow up they can stand anywhere as their gift open up doors for them to stand before great men.
Meet Lilian Samuel one of our best performing in students who started in kindergarten as a very young girl at Barnabas school and is now in senior school doing what she likes doing best.

📚 **Our Library, Our Commitment to Learning** 📖

At St. Barnabas Children Center, we are proud of the library that has been part of our learning environment for many years. It has provided our pupils with access to books, knowledge and a dedicated space for reading, exploration and discovery.

For our learners, the library extends learning beyond the classroom. It gives them the freedom to explore, question and discover at their own pace, equipping them to think critically, read widely and learn beyond the curriculum. 📚 It also allows children to pursue interests that reflect their own curiosity, ignite their creativity, inspire new ambitions and cultivate values that shape character.

Supporting children with different interests, abilities and aspirations requires a library with a diverse and growing collection of books and learning resources.

As our school community continues to grow, so does the number of children who depend on our library each day. 🌱 The collection that has served our pupils faithfully over the years is now supporting many more readers, creating a growing need for more books and learning resources.

We are inviting friends, partners and well-wishers to help us grow our library collection. 🤝 Donate children's storybooks, dictionaries, atlases, encyclopaedias, reference materials, revision books, biographies, and books on science, technology, nature, history, arts, music, sports, leadership, and other age-appropriate educational resources. Your support will broaden opportunities for children and strengthen a library that serves hundreds of young readers each year. 📖

💛 Saskia Returns to Barnabas 💛
Thank You for Staying Part of Our Story.

This week, our Barnabas family had the joy of seeing a familiar face once again. 🌿 After spending time with us as a volunteer last year, Saskia returned to Kenya on Monday evening and visited Barnabas on Tuesday, where our learners and staff greeted her with warm smiles, joyful embraces, and heartfelt excitement.

Some journeys do not end when the journey home begins. They continue through the relationships built, the lives touched, and the commitment that grows long after a farewell. ❤️

For us, Saskia's return is a beautiful reminder that Barnabas is more than a place people visit. It is a community that people carry with them. The friendships formed here, the children whose stories are shared, and the hope nurtured together continue to inspire hearts long after volunteers return home.

Although her volunteer stay came to an end, Saskia's journey with Barnabas did not. Together with Sabrina, she has continued to champion the No Child Can Learn Hungry programme through Barnabas e.V., a commitment that now provides daily porridge to more than 250 learners across Barnabas A, Barnabas B, and Gabes Junior School. 🍲

Seeing Saskia back with the very children whose lives continue to be touched by this programme is a special full-circle moment for our school. It reminds us that meaningful support is measured not only by what is given, but also by the relationships that continue to grow, the promises that are kept, and the lives that continue to be walked alongside. ✨

Saskia, thank you for continuing to choose Barnabas, and thank you to Sabrina for the unwavering commitment you both continue to show our learners. Your compassion has grown into something that is now part of everyday life within our school community. 💛

🎼 Celebrating Talent, Creativity and Achievement🎶

As this year’s Kenya Music Festival season continues, we proudly celebrate the remarkable achievement of our learners from Gabes Junior School, who progressed through the festival stages to represent the school at the Coast Regional Kenya Music Festival. 🌟

Our learners earned 3rd place at the Regionals Level in the categories they presented, an accomplishment that reflects their commitment, teamwork, and the many hours invested in preparation. We congratulate every participant for representing the school with confidence and excellence. 👏

Their performances showcased a beautiful blend of African and Western musical instruments, while their choral presentations conveyed powerful messages of national unity, discipline, and hope for a better future. Through every note and every performance, they demonstrated the creativity, discipline, and character that music continues to nurture in young people. 🎵

Our sincere appreciation goes to Mr. Samuel, whose patient guidance, encouragement, and unwavering commitment have helped shape these young musicians. His dedication behind every rehearsal and performance has been instrumental in this achievement, and we are truly grateful for the impact he continues to make. 💛

At Barnabas and Gabes Junior School, talent is nurtured with purpose. The Coast Regional Kenya Music Festival is one of the many platforms where our learners continue to discover their abilities, refine their skills, and grow in confidence. Beyond the festival stage, our music programme continues to flourish, with several original songs already recorded and shared on our YouTube channel, giving our learners an opportunity to share their voices with a wider audience.
