Economic hardship can make it difficult for young people to exercise their political choices freely. When basic needs such as food, employment, and security are not met, promises of money, favors, or short-term assistance can strongly influence voting decisions. However, true democracy depends on informed choices based on policies, accountability, and long-term development rather than immediate benefits. The challenge for 2027 is whether young people will vote out of desperation or demand leaders who offer lasting solutions to unemployment and poverty.
