Today, KSB joins the world in celebrating International Youth Day under the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”
Young people may come from different backgrounds, live with different experiences and face different challenges, but they share common aspirations: to learn, to work, to participate, to be heard and to build a better future.
For young people with visual impairment and other disabilities, inclusion means ensuring they have access to education, assistive technology, skills development, employment opportunities, leadership and meaningful participation in society.
At KSB, we believe that disability should never limit a young person's aspirations or potential. By removing barriers and creating inclusive opportunities, we can empower every young person to see possibilities, pursue their dreams and contribute to their communities.

Today, KSB signed a Cooperation Agreement with InABLE under the "Unlocking Opportunities Programme". The agreement will support the assessment, recommendation, provision, training, maintenance and support of vision-related assistive devices for persons with disabilities.
The signing was led by KSB Executive Director, Mr. Samson Waweru, and inABLE Programs Director, Mr. Charles Juma Warria. Through this partnership, KSB and inABLE will work to expand access to appropriate assistive technology and strengthen the capacity of persons with disabilities to access education, employment and other opportunities.
At KSB, we believe that the right assistive technology can unlock potential, build independence and create pathways to greater participation and inclusion. Together, we are unlocking opportunities and advancing an inclusive Kenya where persons with disabilities can thrive.

By promoting regular eye examinations, early detection and timely treatment, we can help more people maintain their vision and participate fully in their families, workplaces and communities.

On 1st August 2026, Mr. Samson Waweru, KSB Executive Director donated accessible scrabble games to learners at Thika high school for the blind during the National Games for Students with Disability.
The donation, made in the company of Mr. Charles Waitherero, KSB Council Member, underscores our commitment to promoting inclusive education, literacy, and recreation for learners with visual impairment. Accessible games such as Braille Scrabble provide opportunities to strengthen language skills, strategic thinking, confidence, and social interaction while ensuring that no learner is left behind.
