Today, Indigenous Peoples for Peace and Climate Justice (IPPCJ) joined a meaningful meeting convened by CEMIRIDE for a national policy dialogue focusing on strengthening the participation and inclusion of women with disabilities in climate spaces. The discussions highlighted the importance of ensuring that climate justice platforms are inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the realities faced by marginalized communities.

As a faith-based organization, IPPCJ believes that religious institutions have a responsibility to protect creation, uphold human dignity, and stand with vulnerable communities affected by climate change. Faith communities continue to play a key role in promoting environmental stewardship, peacebuilding, justice, compassion, and community resilience.

During the meeting, IPPCJ shared the lived experiences of the Endorois Indigenous community, particularly on the rising water volumes that continue to affect livelihoods, ancestral land, culture, and food systems. The engagement emphasized the need to center Indigenous voices, women, and persons with disabilities in climate solutions.

The Faith Pavilion at the 13Th World Urban Forum (WUF13) Releases Global Multi-Faith Call to ACTION
Faith organizations and leaders unite with one voice to address the global housing crises.

Baku, Azerbaijan — 2026 .The Faith Pavilion, at the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) released the Faith Pavilion Call to Action on Housing, a global multi-faith statement calling for renewed moral leadership, cross-sector collaboration, and practical action to address the growing global housing crisis.

Issued during WUF13, convened by UN-Habitat under the theme “Housing the World: Safe and Resilient Cities and Communities,” the statement brings together faith leaders, humanitarian organizations, urban practitioners, and civil society partners around a shared commitment to advancing housing systems rooted in human dignity, justice, environmental sustainability, and human flourishing.

Organizations endorsing the Call to Action include Habitat for Humanity International, the World Evangelical Alliance, Future Faith, the Pakistan Climate Alliance, the University of Pretoria Centre for Faith and Community, The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology, Parish Collective, Micah Global, and Relèven, among others.

The Call to Action recognizes that the world faces an escalating housing crisis affecting billions of people through inadequate housing, displacement, informality, rising costs, climate vulnerability, and deepening inequality. It asserts that housing must be understood not merely as physical shelter, but as foundational to human well-being, family stability, public health, community life, economic opportunity, and social cohesion.

The statement emphasizes the critical role faith communities can play in advancing housing solutions through their longstanding local presence, trusted relationships, moral leadership, property and land assets, volunteer networks, financial resources

IPPCJ is honoured to participate at the 13th World Urban Forum held in Azerbaijan through generous support from Green The Church
As a faith-based organization, IPPCJ contributed to the WUF13 vision of building safer, cleaner, greener, and more inclusive communities by amplifying Indigenous voices on climate justice, renewable energy, food sovereignty, and protection of Indigenous lands. Through dialogues and engagement with global partners, IPPCJ highlighted the importance of solar energy adoption in underserved communities, the urgent need to address the climate crisis affecting Indigenous peoples, and the role of faith communities in promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable living. The forum also created an opportunity to advocate for the protection of Indigenous land rights and food systems that preserve culture, dignity, and resilience for future generations. We deeply appreciate Green The Church for making Indigenous participation possible and for standing in solidarity with grassroots and faith-based climate justice movements worldwide.
