As we continue documenting our progress, today we take a moment to reflect on something truly special to our hearts as an organisation๐Ÿ’•.Our very first trees ๐ŸŒณ under the program were planted at Compound-a milestone that shaped our journey.

These trees were generously donated by Migori Energy Centre, with transportation support from . This act of kindness from government agencies was more than just assistance, it fueled our commitment to creating more greener spaces ๐Ÿ’š

๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒณ Growing Generations: St. Gabriel Primary Schoolโ€™s Green Transformation ๐ŸŒณ๐ŸŒฟ

As we continue documenting the impact of our tree planting initiatives in schools, one of the key questions we often face is: What is the rate of the , and how are schools to them?

At St. Gabriel Primary School in Nyatike, where tree planting has historically been a challenge, we found an inspiring success story. Through our strategic approachโ€”establishing environmental clubs, conducting environmental education for , and building the capacity of โ€”the school has flourished into a green Zone.

A particularly touching moment was meeting a teacher who served as the environmental club patron during the early days of planting. With pride, he pointed out an Azadirachta indica (Neem tree) planted by his son, who sat for his KCSE exams last year. This powerful connection across generations underscores the lasting impact of tree plantingโ€”not just on the environment, but on families and communities as well. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š

This transformation is proof that with the right , , and , even the most challenging environments can turn green! ๐ŸŒฑโœจ

Greening the Mind: A Thriving Woodlot at School! ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒณ

As we continue documenting the impact of our tree planting initiatives in schools, today we are proud to highlight the progress at Radienya Primary School! With an estimated #540 trees, this flourishing woodlot is a powerful testament to the long-term benefits of environmental conservation.

๐ŸŒฑ Why These Trees Matter:

โœ… A Cooler & Healthier Learning Environment: The trees provide much-needed shade, creating a comfortable space for learners to study, play, and interact away from the scorching sun.

โœ… Community & School Resilience: Acting as windbreakers, these trees protect classrooms and school structures from strong winds while enhancing the aesthetic value of the school.

โœ… Climate Action & Carbon Sequestration: This woodlot plays a crucial role in absorbing carbon dioxide, helping mitigate the effects of climate change while improving air quality for the learners and the surrounding community.

โœ… Biodiversity & Sustainability: The trees contribute to soil conservation, moisture retention, and habitat for birds and insects, promoting a healthier ecosystem.

This transformation showcases how tree planting is not just about greening spacesโ€”itโ€™s about building a sustainable future for our schools, communities, and the planet. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ“ธ Swipe through to witness the power of collective action in environmental conservation! Letโ€™s continue growing together!
