Kuria league for development KLFD is a ngo that runs a project (DTE) that is aimed at improving the livelihood of the people in the rural kuria in kenya.

Kuria league for development is a local organization that was established in 2011 by the Kurian youth with the aim of assisting the youth through practical development. The organization puts much emphasis on skill development and income generation for the youths. Kuria is administratively a rural district in Migori County, it borders trans-Mara district to the east, Migori district to the north an

d the republic of Tanzania to the south. According to the government statistics, Kuria is the second poorest district in Kenya after Tesso district. The main economic activity in this district is small scale farming and livestock production in small scale. More than 60% of the total population is the youth between the age of 15 to 35 years and less than 10% of the youth have secondary education. To***co production is the main economic activity in this region, this has led to environmental degradation and the youth drop out of school to either grow to***co or work as casuals on the to***co farms. Therefore the literacy level amongst the kurian youth is very low.
