With the high increase of femicide cases and Gender based violence in our community and across the country, we had our Haki Mtaani dialogue with youths on early warning signs, preventive measures and response mechanisms fit for curbing these menaces
During the dialogue , factors such as relationships and domesticviolence ,patriarchal norms, sexual violence ,stigmatisation of elderly women and weak support and justice system were pointed out as drivers of femicide and Gender based violence, addressing these drivers is key in preventing femicide abs Gender based violence and building safer communities
