Today, we continued a journey that is steadily growing into a movement of hope.

THE ST⭐R AWARD, powered by the Bob Mwiti Foundation, was honored to present this award to Mark Mutuma, a resilient young boy from Kilele Village, Thinyaine, Akithii Ward, Tigania West Constituency, Meru County.

Mark is currently a Form Three student at Thinyaine Day Secondary School. His life changed at a very young age when his father was killed by robbers while Mark was still in nursery school. His mother was left with the responsibility of raising and providing for five children on her own.

For Mark, staying in school has been a constant struggle. School fees have been a major challenge, and there have been times when the family has struggled to afford food and other basic needs.

Through it all, Mark continues to choose determination over despair, hope over hardship, and ambition over uncertainty.

This award is our way of telling Mark: you are seen, you are valued, and you are believed in. Today, we stood with him, helping ease part of the burden and affirming that his education, his future, and his dreams are worth protecting.

Blessing Kathambi first learned about the Bob Mwiti Foundation through her teacher. Her teacher had heard about the Foundation through a friend and later visited the office to understand the opportunity and application process.

For Blessing, applying was a chance to seek support, stay in school, and hopefully begin changing the story of her family.

Being selected brought renewed hope to a journey that has already required so much sacrifice.
