Yesterday, we joined a stakeholders engagement meeting at Activate Action Kenya's office in Homa Bay, which brought together CSOs implementing partners serving adolescent girls and young women in partnership with UNICEF Africa and the Kenya Girl Guides Association.

This meeting created an opportunity for us to share experiences, discuss challenges affecting adolescent girls, and strengthen collaboration in promoting health, protection, education, mental health and empowerment for young people in our communities.

We appreciate UNICEF and the Kenya Girl Guides Association for working together with local organizations to support and amplify the voices of young people in Homa Bay County.

Today, we held a productive planning meeting at Suba Sub County Hospital – Sindo in preparation for our upcoming Free Medical inreach scheduled for 20th May 2026.

The meeting was attended by the LVCT Lead together with the Sub County Heads of Departments as we discussed effective coordination and service delivery for the facility inreach.

Through this initiative, we are targeting to reach over 1,000 community members with:

✅ Free HPV Screening & Treatment
✅ Digital X-ray for TB Screening
✅ Optical Services

This activity is more than a medical camp, it is a chance to save lives through early detection, timely treatment, and health education.

We believe that together, we can build a healthier community, but we cannot do it alone. We welcome partners, well-wishers, and friends to support this noble initiative through medical supplies, logistics, finances, and prayers as we prepare to serve the community of Suba.

Together, we can bring hope, healing, and a brighter future to many families.

Over the past 2 days, we have been blessed to continue our medical outreach at Magunga Level 4 Hospital and Kisegi Level 4 Hospital where we followed up on HPV positive patients and ensured they received free treatment and care.

We also visited Nyandiwa Level 4 Hospital where we officially launched our free HPV screening exercise. We are encouraged by the turnout and the impact already being witnessed in the community. The screening program is expected to continue into next week so that more women and girls can access early screening and treatment services.

Together, we are promoting preventive healthcare, restoring hope, and building healthier communities. Thank you to all our partners, volunteers, medical teams, and supporters who continue walking this journey with us.

Over the past two days, we had the privilege of serving our community through HPV screening and free optical services at Kisegi Level 4 Hospital and Magunga Level 4 Hospital.

We reached out to 180 individuals through HPV screening, promoting early detection and prevention of cervical cancer and provided free optical services to 200 people, helping restore and protect vision.

This is more than numbers, it is lives touched, hope restored, and a healthier future for our community.

A heartfelt thank you to our partners, dedicated healthcare teams, and everyone who came out. Your trust and support make this work possible.

Today at Lambwe Dispensary, we brought essential healthcare closer to the community through HPV screening and treatment and free optical services.

This initiative is part of our continued commitment to early detection, prevention, and improving overall well-being of the underserved populations especially for women and vulnerable populations. Every screening done and every eye checked is a step toward a healthier, stronger community.

We are excited to launch our Menstrual Health Program this holiday!
This initiative is dedicated to supporting 800 adolescent girls by providing sanitary towels and mentorship, ensuring they stay confident, healthy, and in school during their periods.

Far too many girls still face period poverty, stigma, and missed opportunities, together, we can change that.

This Easter was truly impactful as we successfully held our Community Empowerment & Health Day.

At Ogongo Level 4 Hospital, we empowered peer educators through interactive sessions focused on mental well-being, sexual and reproductive health, and building knowledge to support our youth.

At the same time, at Lambwe Health Centre, Mbita, we conducted free HPV screening, giving community members, especially women the opportunity for early detection and prevention of cervical cancer.

We are grateful to everyone who showed up, participated, and took a step towards better health. Together, we are building a healthier, informed, and empowered community.
