Every harvest tells a story of impact. 🌿

Looking simple but productive. Our African leafy climate-smart vegetable garden not only provides nutritious food for the community, but it also provides an income to women. Every harvest is a testimony to serving our everyday breakfast meals to children in rural schools. Every sale will enable us to secure 2kg of Amarantha seeds, a nutritious component to improve the nutritional value of our everyday cup of porridge for children in school.

Growing food. Nourishing children. Building futures. πŸ²πŸ’š

Today, we had the privilege of hosting our board member, .R. ABWATSI, and Alayna Dean in our offices. We conducted a guided conversation towards organization sustainability and scalability of the organization's community-led intervention geared towards creating community -led change in rural communities. The team also interacted with our first cohort of 30 youths on basic computer literacy under the (UPLIFT) project in our youth empowerment program and proposed a partnership with Zindua Innovation Lab for advanced tech training for youths in rural communities.

provides the need for meaningful partnership towards attaining the . We value partnerships and collaborations towards our community-led programs. Our team, led by the director Joseph Were, visited ICIPE - International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology at Thomas Odhiambo campus in Mbita to learn and seek partnership and collaboration on our Black Soldier Fly project and our proposed Bees for Hope project, for economic empowerment and sustainability. This visit became a turning point towards working together with ICIPE in capacity building our team on agribusiness, especially visiting our BSF farm and bee farm site selection, before establishing our Bees of Hope community farm.

Happy World Bee Day! 🐝🌍

Today, we celebrate the important role bees play in protecting biodiversity, supporting food security, and sustaining livelihoods. This day is not just about celebrating bees but also about understanding the serious threats they face and encouraging global action to protect them.
Bees play a vital role in pollination, which is essential for the growth of many crops and plants. It is estimated that more than 75% of the world’s crops depend on pollinators, including bees.

Without bees, food production would decline significantly, leading to higher costs and reduced availability of fruits, vegetables, and nuts. In fact, one out of every three bites of food we eat is linked to pollination.

World Bee Day 2026 reminds us that protecting bees is directly connected to human survival, food security, and environmental balance. Because of bees, Rural to Action supplies our school meals program directly from the farmers.

Yesterday, we officially launched the UPLIFT Project, an initiative aimed at providing digital literacy training to adolescents and youth from rural communities in Mbita, Kenya. πŸ’»πŸŒ

The launch brought together the first cohort of 30 young people at our Youth Empowerment Center, marking the beginning of a journey toward digital inclusion and opportunity.

Through this project, we aim to equip 200 in-school and out-of-school adolescents and youth with digital skills by the end of 2026, helping bridge the digital divide in rural communities.

You can support this mission by donating laptops, computers, or solar backup systems to help create access to technology and learning opportunities for young people. Together, we can empower the next generation with the skills they need for the future. πŸ’š

What started as a birthday act of giving has grown into a mission of hope. Early-morning preparation of an everyday cup of porridge remains at the heart of our commitment to nourishing children in rural schools.

It is not just a meal β€” it is hope for a child who has trekked long distances to school, love shared through nourishment, and a foundation for good health, concentration, and better performance in class.

Every cup served is a reminder that simple acts of kindness can transform lives. Support our mission by donating to serve many children.
