Malaria is preventable. Malaria is treatable. Malaria is beatable. πŸ’š

This year's World Malaria Day reminds us to take action because we can end malaria in our communities:

βœ” Sleep under a treated net every night

βœ” Test early when you have a fever

βœ” Keep your environment clean

Together, we can build a malaria-free future.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting Huru International team, an organization championing menstrual health through menstrual health education, manufacturing, and the provision of reusable sanitary pads to schoolgirls. πŸ’œ

In many rural communities, period poverty remains a significant challenge β€” forcing girls to miss school due to lack of access to safe, affordable, and sustainable menstrual products.

We explored opportunities for collaboration to support local distribution of menstrual health products, ensuring more girls can consistently stay in school in Suba North. This remains our key focus under our community health program in rural communities though meaningful partnership towards Sustainable Development Goal 3.

As schools close this week for a short holiday, we take a moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate milestones in our School Meals Program. πŸ²πŸ“š

This first quarter, we have seen an increase of 63 learners across our partner schools, a powerful reminder that school meals are driving enrolment, attendance, and learning.

What started as a simple birthday gesture continues to grow into a lasting impact by nourishing 533 children in rural primary schools.

πŸ’š Thank you to our partners and supporters, parents, and teachers. This progress is only possible through collaboration and partnership.

Stronger partnerships, greater impact. 🀝🌍

Last week, we wrapped up our outreach activities combined medical service delivery, community engagement, and international service learning. With the partnership of DEVLINK Healthcare, the Ministry of Health, and Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, we delivered free medical services while creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and cultural learning for students and local healthcare providers.

Through our outreach activities, community members were able to access critical services, including:

βœ”οΈ Free ANC services

βœ”οΈ HPV vaccination

βœ”οΈ Ultrasound screening

βœ”οΈ Malaria testing and treatment

These services are vital in improving health outcomes for families in rural communities.

Partner with us for global service and cultural learning to spark community development.

Day 2 of our Community Mobile Medical Clinic was successfully held at Victoria Watoto school. πŸ’š

Through our partnership with Hamamatsu University School of Medicine international service-learning program and local health facilities, children received free medical services, including malaria diagnosis, ultrasound, HPV vaccination, and health education.

This initiative is improving access to essential health information and services in rural communities while strengthening preventive care and early treatment.

Beyond healthcare, the program also fosters cultural exchange and community-driven development, demonstrating how global partnerships can contribute to sustainable local impact. Together, we are bringing healthcare closer to the community.

We fundraised in partnership with our board member and volunteer Alayna Dean to lift the face of Kisui Youth Empowerment Center. An abandoned facility for years, we are glad the work has started and ending soon. Renovations', fencing works underway, soon installing sewing machines, a library, computer lab and cyber cafe, conference hall. This project will give children, and the youth a space for skills building alongside . We remain grateful to the donors for the support.

You can donate books, computers and more sewing machines to empower youths from the rural Mbita.
