Wealth Pathways Case 7: Sh.150,000 saved and invested consistently will grow to sh.1,548,256,303.40 billion over 41 years.

Similar to pathway 6, if you are playing in this league and you do not find a way to a billionaire, you are the greatest enemy within yourself!

You do have multiple routes and shorter time pathways to usher you into the club of billionaires. Officially and again based on government household income distribution data, you can easily play in the league of BIG boys and girls in the Country.

Notice:
1. Over this period, your total savings (capital created) will only be sh.73,800,000 million;

2. Interest and compounding would have lifted sh.1, 474,456,303.40 billion for you;

3. Again as with all earlier cases, there will be no need for extra labour or effort over your monthly savings for your money (capital invested) to lift up the 1.5 billion - only money and time doing the lifting.

At this level, your money moves can easily shift financial markets, you can easily play in the private equity market, your money can fund considerable luxuries without depleting anything and of course you can influence economic policies in the country through owning political and bureaucratic elites.

This would be our last pathway in this discussion. If you are beyond this, you can easily afford consultancy fee so that I could assist you in restructuring your portfolio as we explore alternative portfolio balances.

Here now we hear the tale of the numbers!

Wealth Pathways Case 6: Sh.125,000 saved and invested consistently will grow to sh.1,290,213,586.20 billion over 41 years.

At this level, chances are that you have multiple pathways to become a billionaire, potentially a shorter route actually.

At current official household income distribution levels in Kenya, if you can dedicate sh.125,000 a month without straining, you are already in the league of high middle income cluster.

However, majority of these guys still will never cross the billion net worth class as per official statistics. Recent data suggests probably only about 125 Kenyans are playing in this league.

My gut feel tells me majority of the middle class people who are in this income cluster are locked in:
1. Long term mortgage facilities that they locked in this wonder capital;

2. High end car loan facilities that they move around with;

3. Lifestyle inflation that gives them an allure of success, while in actual sense they are trapped in the middle class fantasy.

Notice:
1. Over this period, your total savings (capital created) will only be sh.61,500,000 million;

2. Interest and compounding would have lifted sh.1, 228,713,586.20 billion for you;

3. Again, there will be no need for extra labour or effort over your monthly savings for your money (capital invested) to lift up the 1.23 billion - only money and time doing the lifting;

4. At this level, you can easily afford to live life on your own terms. You will not bow to politicians or wheeler dealers - in fact, you can own the politicians yourself; and

5. Notice, if you can raise sh.13 million (or about US$100,000) in advance, lock the money into an annually compounding assets at just the same 12%, your money will grow to sh.1,209,662,615.70 billion in 40 years.

Again, this demonstrates the triple magic of capital, time and discipline.

This how the math Maths!

Wealth Pathways Case 5: Sh.100,000 saved and invested consistently will grow to sh.1,032,170,868.90 billion over 41 years.

Yes, if you have ever dreamed of becoming a billionaire, just sh.100,000 deployed with discipline and consistently is enough to turn you into a billionaire within your lifetime and even from employment or any other stable income!

Notice:
1. Over this period, your total savings (capital created) will only be sh.49,200,000 million;

2. Interest and compounding would have lifted sh.982,970,868.90 million for you;

3. Again, there will be no need for extra labour or effort over your monthly savings for your money (capital invested) to lift up the 982.9 million - only money and time doing the lifting; and

4. This proves beyond any reasonable doubt that capital is the second wonder miracle, after the magical 12th year of disciplined savings and investment.

For those that dream of instant wealth, corruption, wash-wash or con games from others, this proves that true and lasting wealth is an outcome of discipline, resilience, patience, capital and time!

The billionaire pathway numbers!

Wealth Pathways Case 4: Sh.50,000 saved and invested consistently will grow to sh.516,085,434.50 million over 41 years.

Yes, you have heard me clear, this is more than half a billion shillings!

Notice:
1. Over this period, your total savings (capital created) will only be sh.24,600,000;

2. Interest and compounding would have lifted sh.491,485,434.50 million for you;

3. Again, there will be no need for extra labour or effort over your monthly savings for your money (capital invested) to lift up the 491.5 million - only money and time doing the lifting;

4. If you've been following this story carefully, by now you must have noticed how small changes in the monthly savings are producing dramatic changes in the overall wealth.

This is the other magical power of having initial capital and deploying it into a good financial assets that pay you even the government risk free rates.

This is especially important for people who get irregular big money windfalls or in business that generate income in blocs of projects or contracts.

Before you rush to sink millions into your residential house or flashy cars, a delayed gratification may work wonders and smoothen your income for the long-term.

Assume you just raised the initial capital in the first 1-3 years, invested it in this financial assets and left for only 10 -15 years?

Also, for those that imagine buying plots is creating wealth, your answer has started to emerge here. If you are not the one in the business of buying and selling the plots to others, you'll need to call yourself into a small committee in your head and consider this numbers candidly!

Here is how the math gets Mathing!

2. Interest and compounding would have lifted sh.245,742,717.20 million for you; and

Wealth Pathways Case 2: Sh.10,000 saved and invested consistently will grow to sh.103,217,086.90 million over 41 years.

1. Over this period, your total savings (capital created) will only be sh.4,920,000;

2. Your money through interest and compounding will have lifted sh.98,297,086.90 million; and

3. The compounded interest is loaded to your wealth without any effort or need to work extra on your part. It is simply your money (capital) and time doing the lifting for you.

Think about that!

Wealth Pathways Case 1: Sh.5,000 saved and invested consistently will grow to sh.51,606,543.50 million over 41 years.

Notice:
1. In the first 8 years, your savings will be doing the heavy lifting. Interest is very small compared to your savings, but the interest keeps growing each year;

2. At exactly the 8th year, your annual interest overtakes your annual savings;

3. Between the 8th -12th year (4 years), your interest is ploughing faster towards overtaking your total capital invested;

4. At exactly on the 12th year, your accumulated interest overtakes your total capital saved. It is the magical year when your money takes over and the power of compounding kicks in, in full throttle;

5. This is a secret only the wealthy understand -the poor & middle class average Joes wonder who is there to wait for all this 40 years. Majority poor dream there are easier or faster ways they can build such wealth -but for some reason they never seem to find such a way.

Instead, they keep whining, blaming the economy or others for their poverty. Many others crowd places of worship shouting 'I receive' to promises of instant millions falling from heaven.

They forget, the God of the Bible is a God of order and process. He blesses the work of our hands.

All this while, the wealthy have worked their 8 year sacrifice to creating capital, and now they watch as their money does the heavy lifting.

Funny, when majority of the poor people hear of 41 years of disciplined savings and investment, many actually think they won't live for that long. As a result, they never get started and wallow in poverty for longer periods than the 41 years!

Hear is how the math is Maths!

A story of Money numbers: Si Uchawi!

If this does not inspire you, then ‘hauwezi zaidika’!

In this tabulation, I share how the power of compounding works. We look at the numbers assuming 7 different monthly saving and investment options of 5,000; 10,000; 25,000; 50,000; 100,000; 125,000; and 150,000.

Assumptions:
1. All savings and interest earned are invested or re-invested at the end of the each year. Thus, savings of 1st year and 41st do not earn interest, but are added to the portfolio;

2. The investment are compounded at an average interest of 12% (about the net tax rates for the government 25-year bonds in the market currently); and

3. The savings and investment are allowed to continue uninterrupted for 40 years. The 41st year is to allow the 1st years savings to be invested.

What the numbers say:
1. There would be no interest in the 1st of accumulation of the initial capital. Similarly, the final year savings (capital) will simply be added to the portfolio since it hasn’t been invested;

2. For all the options, the first 8 years it is your savings that are doing the most lifting. The interest is comparatively very small compared to your savings, but are progressively increasing each year. This are your donkey years of capital accumulation;

3. At exactly the 8th, the annual interest income overtakes your annual savings, assuming you never skipped any monthly saving and the money was dutifully re-invested each year. From this point, your money starts doing the heavy lifting for you;

4. At exactly the 12th year, a magical power takes over completely. Your annual interest overtakes your saved capital. From this point, your money grows in multiples of more than one;

5. The 4 years between 8th -12th are called transition years from you working for money to your money working for you;

6. After the 12th year, your portfolio will start doubling in about 3 years (under every 4 years);

7. On the 30th year, your interest shall be growing at a factor of 4;

8. The different options demonstrate how adequate capital accumulation works magic on your wealth journey. Small differences in monthly savings will translate to hundreds of millions in interest compounded. This is the strongest case why you must save and invest any coins at your disposal. They reward of those small daily sacrifices are astronomical over years; and

9. Finally, in the 41 years shillings 5,000; 10,000; 25,000; 50,000; 100,000; 125,000; and 150,000 monthly uninterrupted savings invested annually @12 compound interest will have grown to shillings 51.6 million, 103.2 million, 258.0 million, 516.1 million, 1.032 billion, 1.29 billion and 1.55 billion respectively.

Note:
1. Hii si uchawi, the magic is to start and survive the first 8 donkey years; and

2. This scenarios demonstrate the magical power of compounding – after 12 years, your money take over the load from you. This is the secret only the wealth do understand while the poor cry ati ‘wamerongwa’!

Power of Situational Awareness

Sometimes back in my village, someone from the neighboring village hired the famous Kenya Bus (old models) to ferry his many friends from Nairobi for his wedding ceremony in the village.

In theory, there was nothing wrong with that choice, except that our village happens to be quite hilly, roads narrow and sharp corners due to contours up the hill.

The driver and majority of the people in that bus had no idea of the terrain or the road networks up those villages. Somehow, the driver managed to navigate the first choice of route given, but confirmed that bus could not go back the same route.

An alternative route, less hilly was recommended -but that couldn't solve the problem of sharp corners on narrow roads. The bus, full of passengers ended-up spending 3 days on a distance of less than 10 kilometers. To this day, I still remember the strain & frustrations evident all over the face of the driver.

Majority of his passengers sat pretty in the bus, completely oblivious of the danger within. It was also completely surprising how their host, hired such a bus knowing fully well how treacherous those roads were for such a type of vehicle.

Is this an isolated case? No, even with the current adverse rains, many people will continue with their daily business as if it doesn't matter.

This behaviours are a true depiction of what we call a lack of situational awareness. Situational awareness is a critical element for individual and community level safety. It saves lives, material properties and financial health.

Millions of people are trapped in poverty because they lack or fail to utilize their cognitive abilities on situational awareness. Here are 3 reasons why you MUST deploy your situational awareness capabilities:

1. Situational awareness enables you to effectively assess risks, make better decisions or even identify opportunities from within you. In extreme cases, this saves lives and protects properties;

2. Situational awareness falls within the framework of Business Continuity Management that supports individuals and organizations anticipate, prepare and respond appropriately in case catastrophic risks materializes;

3. Anticipating events or changes in your surroundings not only empowers you to plan your finances ahead of time, but also helps you discover opportunities around you.

Have you ever wondered why many local communities never develop unless the locality experiences an influx of foreigners or newcomers from other places? That's also lack of community level situational awareness!
