We sccessfully launched the Garisa Sauti Yangu 2jiajiri Skills Project today, 20th of August 2026.

During the launch, ITC Foundation donated three complete sets of sewing machines, completed sets of hairdressing machines, shaving machines, and laptops for computer packages training .

The Foundation extends its sincere sense of gratitude to the host partners Garisa Community Conservation Network , Local Administration Of Garisa Township, and The Community at large.

We continue implementing the Sustainable Development Goal Agenda number 4 on Quality Education ; narrowing our consent to Goal 4 target 4.4 on increasing the number of youths with skills for equal opportunities and ready self-employment to enact dependency levels and reliance .

Together, we will champion change a d we are optimistic that tourism and conservation can help bridge Gap to be an equaliser.

The project "SAUTI YANGU 2JIAJIRI SKILLS PROJECT " will be a nationwide project, and its introduction is expected to benefit many.

🕯️ Every name tells a story. Every name mattered.

Today, we pause to honour the 147 rangers from 40 countries who lost their lives in the line of duty between 1 June 2025 and 31 May 2026. These names have been verified by the International Ranger Federation and recorded in the 2026 Roll of Honour as shared by International international Ranger Federation.

They were protectors of wildlife.
Guardians of forests, oceans, mountains and grasslands.
Colleagues. Friends. Parents. Children. Mentors.

They stood between nature and its greatest threats, often at great personal risk.

Some never came home.

As you read these names, remember that each represents a life dedicated to something greater than themselves, a commitment to protecting the world's natural and cultural heritage for future generations.

We also acknowledge that these names do not tell the whole story. In many parts of the world, ranger deaths go unreported or cannot be verified, and we remember the unnamed and unknown rangers whose sacrifices may never be recorded. We also honour those lost to su***de, recognising the importance of supporting ranger wellbeing and mental health.

Today, we remember them not for how they died, but for how they lived, with courage, purpose and an unwavering commitment to protecting our planet.

May their service never be forgotten.
May their sacrifice inspire us to do more for those who continue the watch.

🏆 2025 Best Field Ranger: Kapuna Lepale (Kenya)

After spending 15 years as a poacher, Kapuna Lepale made the life-changing decision to become a ranger.

For the past 23 years, he has protected elephants and rhinos at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, using his deep understanding of poaching tactics to combat wildlife crime. Today, he is a respected mentor, leader and trusted member of his community.

His story is a reminder that conservation is built on courage, commitment and the belief that people can change.
