We had a townhall dialogue in Mkaomoto Ganda Ward, bringing together youths and young mothers to discuss the growing issue of femicide and violence against women and girls.

The discussion was guided by the alarming cases of femicide, reminding us of the urgent need to protect children and end gender-based violence in our communities.

Participants discussed the causes, warning signs, and impacts of femicide while encouraging early reporting, community responsibility and collective action to create safer spaces for women and girls.

Special thanks to Peace Brigades International - Kenya Project for supporting this important activity and standing with women rights defenders in the fight against femicide and injustice.

Hope 4 Women Center is outraged by the brutal r**e and murder of eight year old Keziah. This is not just a tragedy it is a failure of systems meant to protect children.

We demand immediate action. Investigations must be swift, transparent, and uncompromising. Those responsible must be arrested and prosecuted without delay.

How many more children must suffer before decisive action is taken?

Keziah deserved safety. She deserved protection. She deserved a future.

We stand firmly with her family and all those grieving this painful loss. Their call for justice is our call too.

We join voices across the country under to demand accountability and an end to violence against children.

To duty bearers: protecting children is not optional. It is your responsibility.

To communities: speak up, report abuse, and refuse to stay silent. Silence enables violence.

Justice for Keziah must be immediate and
uncompromised.

YOUR VOTE = YOUR FUTURE
That’s what one young man told us at our community dialogue:
‘Voting is important because I get to choose the leaders I want.’

He’s right. Here’s why your vote matters: It decides who manages your taxes - for schools, clinics and water. It decides who speaks for you - in the County Assembly and Parliament. It decides what opportunities come to your area - youth funds, jobs, projects.

Don’t sit this one out. An empty ballot box is a missed opportunity for Kilifi.

This dialogue was part of our ongoing civic engagement program to strengthen youth participation in democracy.

“I have a voter’s card, but I won’t vote. It doesn’t benefit me.”
Sound familiar?

Here’s the truth: When you don’t vote, someone else decides for you.
No clean water? No jobs? Poor services? Leaders are chosen by those who show up.

Your vote = Your power:
1. It’s your voice - The only legal way to choose who represents you.
2. It controls budgets - Roads, bursaries, hospitals start with the leader you elect.
3. Silence keeps things the same - Change starts at the ballot box.
4. Youth are the majority - When we vote in numbers, we can’t be ignored.

One vote has decided elections before. Don’t give away your power.

Register. Show up. Vote. Protect your future.
