Ubani Trust Ubani Trust is a Faith based Charitable Trust that seeks to end Child Sexual Exploitation to teenage girls in Nairobi, Kenya.

UBANI TRUST APPROACH

1.School mentorship programs:
Through our school mentorship programs, we work in partnership with the schools within the informal settlements. Our life skills curriculum focuses on equipping the teenage girls with life coping skills, Goal Setting and Leadership Development.

2. Scholarship programs:
Through our interactions with the community, identify needy teenage girls a

nd support them through school. Unlike most scholarship programs which are merit based, we acknowledge the effects of trauma in the lives of the girls we work with and avail scholarship opportunities to all who desire to study and pursue professional careers.

3. Trauma informed integrated care to the teenagers:
As we work within the informal settlements, we have been made aware of the need for trauma care as many girls have been victims of traumatic experiences. Domestic violence and r**e in the homes is so rampant and the trauma affects the psychosocial development of these girls and predisposes them to the risk of being exploited.

4. Economic empowerment of teenage mums and children who head households:
Poverty and r**e have contributed to the high rate of teenage pregnancies as most of the girls are sexually exploited by their families through prostitution in order to contribute to the family income. Through our economic empowerment programs, the teenage mothers and teenage girls who head their household will find healthier and non exploitative ways of earning a decent living income while they learn vocational skills that will help them be financially independent financially in the long run.

Today in Cheptais, Bungoma, we marked World Day Against Human Trafficking alongside a community dedicated to protecting its youth and vulnerable families.
Our campaign for the past weeks focused on education and prevention and bringing these conversations directly to the community made one thing clear: Knowledge is power and safety is a collective effort.

Watching these girls gather for their very first session today was a beautiful reminder of His perfect timing. Every girl here carries a divine purpose and God aligned every step to bring them through our doors.

As humble vessels, we lean entirely on His wisdom to guide them through our program.

Child labour and sexual exploitation are deeply connected — and too often, the world treats them as separate issues.
When children are pushed into labour, especially in hidden or informal sectors, they become more vulnerable to grooming, coercion, and abuse. Poverty, lack of protection, and unsafe work environments create the perfect conditions for exploitation to thrive.

At Ubani Trust, we are raising the red card to child labour and standing for fair play for children, decent work for adults.
Every child deserves safety. Every child deserves a childhood.

Partnerships play a key role in combating human trafficking. At Ubani, we take that seriously and grateful for the partners that come alongside us.

What happens when a survivor finally finds a safe place to rest, heal, and begin again?

This week, HAART had the privilege of sharing our Best Practice Manual for Shelters with the incredible team at Ubani Trust. This is a collaboration grounded in one shared goal: protecting and restoring dignity for survivors.

Healing begins when survivors are safe, supported, and surrounded by people who care.

Partnerships like these remind us that ending exploitation takes all of us. 🤝

A glimpse into a DVBS week well spent at Ubani Trust... Pure joy!!! ☺️

At its core, DVBS provides a concentrated time for children to learn Biblical values. For many, it’s an introduction to a relationship with God that offers hope and a sense of identity.
The lessons learned and the friendships formed often last long after the week ends, acting as a "launchpad" for ongoing mentorship and growth.
