RC Athi Kapiti in collaboration with RC Kitengela at GK Prisons Primary School to officially hand over a newly constructed ablution block. This isn’t just a building; it’s a commitment to the health and dignity of our students, building on the success of our previous work at Nookopir and Olmapinu.

Beyond the infrastructure, we went green! 🌳 Alongside the school’s Environmental Club, we got our hands dirty with seed balls and tree planting, ensuring the next generation is equipped to lead conservation efforts. We also spent time at Kitengela GK Prison, learning about the vital rehabilitation work happening within our community.

"Service is our work; storytelling is our legacy." ✨

I believe that the true power of Rotary lies in the stories we share—the lives changed, the communities uplifted, and the women who lead with unwavering courage.

Being a woman in Rotary means using my voice to shine a light on the "Service Above Self" happening in every corner of our community. When we tell our stories, we inspire the next generation to pick up the mantle and lead. 🕊️📸

I’m proud to tell the Athi Kapiti story. Happy International Women’s Day! 🌍❤️

From the global stage in Geneva to the heart of Athi Kapiti, let us always remember that Rotary is a space to experiment, to lead, and to wear our "crowns" with pride. đź‘‘

When we recognize the greatness in one another, there is no limit to the impact we can make. Here’s to the women who lead the way!

Rotary allows us to wear a “crown” of leadership and humanitarianism. As we celebrate International Women’s Day, let’s honor that crown, lean into our potential, and serve with love. 🕊️👑

Being a WIR means being part of a purpose driven community. Serving others and looking to leave the community better than you found it for future generations

Rotary has been provided an opportunity as a woman to give and grow, lead and be led, learn and teach and create great freindships.

What excites the most and the mark i would like to leave is in Mother Teresa's words..."we can do not great things, only small things with great love". An encouragement to all in their small way to serve others.

To me being a woman in Rotary means serving with compassion and all strength to change lives.

Being a woman in Rotaryis not just showing up, it is the service above self, the sacrifices and the love you show in transforming people’s lives.

It is the joy and satisfaction you get once you see one life changed or when you create a lasting impact in the community.

I am a proud woman in Rotary.

Happy International Women’s day!

What does it mean to you to be a Woman in Rotary?

The room buzzes with budgets and timelines. Then someone mentions a family in need. Silence.

That’s where I belong.

Seeing past paperwork and into human hearts. Turning complexity into compassion. Caring deeply, not because it’s efficient, but because when you give, you gain.

What impact has being in Rotary had in your life?

I once had a thought too and spoke.

Then Rotary. Showed up. Observed. Served. Listened.

Somewhere in the giving, that quiet thought grew roots, a chartered club. A purpose.

I came to serve. I didn’t know I’d give, for the environment and community to gain.

What are you most excited about leaving as your mark?

Don’t look at the bonfires. Look at the corners, the members, human beings.

Members laughing freely? Friendly jabs? The shy one speaking? The arrogant one listening. The nervous new face now home?

That’s my mark.

Members first. Always. Because when people feel safe, they grow wings. When women lift women, everyone rises.

Walk into our bonfire, feel the warmth. No performance. Just presence.

Give to gain. Always.

~ Charter President Sylvia Njambi

What does being a Woman in Rotary mean to you?

“Being a woman in Rotary means standing at the intersection of compassion and leadership. It means using our voices, our skills, and our hearts to serve others and to remind the world that when women lead with purpose, communities thrive.”

What impact has Rotary had in your life?

“My journey in Rotary International has transformed the way I see service and leadership. It has surrounded me with people who challenge me to grow, inspire me to serve beyond myself, and constantly remind me that true leadership is measured by the lives we touch.”

What are you most excited about leaving as your mark?

The mark I hope to leave in Rotary / Athi Kapiti
“As part of Rotary Club of Athi Kapiti, I hope to leave a legacy of bold service, meaningful connections, and opportunities for more women to step into leadership. If my time in Rotary inspires even one more person to believe in the power of service above self, then I will know I have left my mark.”
