Sober Living CBO at the Bootcamp

This week, Sober Living CBO had the privilege of joining 40 youth-led organizations from Nairobi and Kwale Counties at the Sheria Ya Vijana Bootcamp.

The bootcamp provided practical learning on climate entrepreneurship, governance, financial planning, digital innovation, business modelling, and investor readiness. It was also a great opportunity to learn from experienced mentors, exchange ideas with fellow youth leaders, and strengthen our Turning Waste to Opportunity initiative.

We sincerely appreciate the Sheria Ya Vijana programme, the European Union in Kenya , Afosi, Stretchers Youth Organization and all implementing partners for investing in youth-led innovation and sustainable enterprises. We remain committed to applying the knowledge and skills gained to create lasting impact through climate action, youth empowerment, and community-driven solutions.

Together, we are building resilient communities and advancing a more sustainable and inclusive future for all.

Every great journey begins with learning.

Sober Living is proud to have participated in the Green BDS & Entrepreneurship Training for Youths in Kenya, organized by the African Forest Forum(AFF).

During the training, we proudly presented our Green and Digital Transitions Initiative: Turning Waste into Opportunity, while gaining practical skills in green business development, financial planning, and investor pitching.

We appreciate the AFF team and facilitators for an enriching experience. Together, we're turning ideas into action for a greener, more sustainable future.

We sincerely thank Dr. Ruth Wamatuba Akelola for taking us through an eye-opening session on “Understanding Digital Violence in Today’s Society.”
During the webinar, she covered seven key areas, including the meaning of digital violence, its common forms, the difference between cyberbullying and digital violence, how social media can fuel online abuse, why many victims remain silent, and the growing impact of digital violence in our communities.
Her insights reminded us that digital violence is a real issue that deserves serious attention and collective action.

Today, we received a courtesy visit from Youth for a Sustainable World - YSW as part of an Organizational Capacity Assessment. The visit provided an opportunity to share our progress, ongoing programs, and the impact we continue to create within the community.
We are pleased to share that we will be involved in YOEP Phase 2 under the YEC project, previously implemented by Lungalunga YOUTH CBO . This is an important milestone for our organization as we continue growing and scaling our community impact initiatives.
We appreciate the trust and confidence placed in our work and remain committed to empowering young people and creating sustainable change at the grassroots level.
Looking forward to more partnerships, growth, and impact ahead.
