On Saturday, 11th October 2025, Amplify Group members, under the leadership of Ms. Mercelyne Awuor (Chairperson), held a charity drive where we made an official visit to Mama Ngina Children’s Home, based in Kisumu, Kenya. We took various items for the event, including basics like tissue paper, cooking oil, baking flour, green grams, soap, and rice.
Upon arrival at the institution, our group was divided into categories, with some assisting with kitchen work, cleaning, entertainment, and mentorship. We had a wonderful time engaging with the children and gained insight into the challenges faced by needy people in our communities, including those living with disabilities.
It came to our attention that some parents abandon their children, while still infants, on the streets due to negligence and drug abuse. The Amplify Group condemns such reckless parenting and irrational decision-making among members of the public. We call upon the relevant departments in the Government of Kenya to ensure strict oversight on matters of children's affairs, human rights, and privileges.
