Under the Power for Food Partnership, 35 Master Trainer of Trainers (MTOTs) from Kakamega, Bungoma, and Busia drawn from Ward and Sub-County Agricultural Offices as well as the energy sector participated in a four day training on Regenerative Agriculture (RA) and the Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE). The training was facilitated by SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, in collaboration with Green Zone Kenya, the implementing partner.

Through a structured cascade model, the initiative is expected to reach and benefit over 3,600 technology users within the three counties by disseminating RA–PURE nexus knowledge.
Through its Learn pathway, Green Zone Kenya aims to apply adaptive, evidence driven approaches to validate effective RA–PURE practices at the community level. The approach prioritizes practical research, field demonstrations, and participatory knowledge generation to address evidence gaps and strengthen decision making among farmers, SMEs, and county actors.
The knowledge gained during the training will be delivered through Farmer Field Schools (FFS) and Farmer Field Business Schools (FFBS) approach. MTOTs will train Trainers of Trainees (ToTs), who will then train technology users at the FFS level.

Throughout this process, MTOTs will provide continuous technical support to promote effective adoption and long-term impact.
By integrating renewable energy solutions with regenerative agriculture practices, the initiative seeks to enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and build more resilient and sustainable farming systems.

On 8th April 2026, Green Zone - Kenya participated in a Partners’ Linkage Workshop in Nairobi convened by Power for Food Partnership and organised by Bopinc.

The event brought together the 8 implementing partners and 14 RA/PURE technology SMEs, for a day of engagement and collaboration.
