In Garissa County, Inuka for Community continues to work closely with communities to advance health education and strengthen efforts to end FGM. Through community scorecard sessions and dialogue forums, residents, leaders, women, and youth are actively engaging in identifying key challenges and tracking progress together.
These conversations are helping build shared understanding and driving practical, community-led solutions that improve health and protect the well-being of women and girls.

Inuka Community Organization recently held a strategic partnership meeting with Director Elizabeth Nailantei (Maasai Nurse) of Enchipai Medical Centre – Obunga, Kisumu County, together with the Programs Officer from the National AIDS & STIs Control Program (NASCOP).
The discussion focused on strengthening collaboration to improve community health outcomes, especially for adolescents and young people. Key areas included:

Promoting sexual and reproductive health rights awareness and access to services
Enhancing HIV prevention, testing, treatment adherence, and youth-friendly support systems
Addressing Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) through awareness and access to care
Improving access to affordable and quality healthcare through referral systems
Reducing teenage pregnancies through community engagement and sexual education
Both partners expressed a shared commitment to delivering impactful programs, strengthening referral networks, and empowering communities through sustainable health initiatives.

We’re excited to be part of something impactful.
INUKA Community Organization, in partnership with Kenya and Kenya, is taking part in a 6-day capacity building training under Phase II of the Sowing Change Project.
The focus is on: • Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA)
• Social Analysis and Action (SAA)
This training goes beyond learning, it’s about strengthening community systems, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and building climate resilience. There’s a strong focus on empowering women and youth to take the lead.
As an implementing partner, our goal is to:
Promote gender inclusion in climate leadership
Support women-led nature-based solutions
Strengthen financial resilience through VSLAs
Invest in nature-based enterprises
This is more than a training. It’s a step toward stronger communities, resilient livelihoods, and real economic opportunities built around nature.

Inuka engages high school students in a meaningful dialogue on health, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), and the importance of ending Gender-Based Violence (GBV). During this school visit, we engaged students on Gender-Based Violence and Sexual Reproductive Health through open dialogue, mentorship, and honest reflection. The session was interactive and student-driven, allowing young people to speak freely, ask questions, and challenge perspectives.
