Today we held a productive meeting with Dr. Edgar Otumba the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Education, Youth Affairs, Gender, and Social Services in Siaya County. To discuss the ongoing and upcoming IYF activities in Siaya. Our discussions focused on the implementation of Mind Education training across the county, as well as strengthening the impact of the WE CAN Academy.
We are excited about the opportunities ahead and remain committed to nurturing positive mindsets, building capacity, and empowering the young people of Siaya to achieve their full potential.

🌟 “I CAN SPEAK... NOT WITH MY VOICE, BUT WITH SIGNS.” 🌟

This is what so many deaf and hard of hearing people whisper to themselves, in a world that too often forgets to listen to them...

This Thursday, September 18th in Homa Bay, the International Youth Fellowship of Kisumu, in collaboration with New Life, had the great privilege of raising more than 100 people about sign language.

About a hundred participants enthusiastically signed up to begin this training, eager to learn a language that gives a voice to those who are often ignored.

The day also featured a Mindset session, led by Reverend Pastor Peter Uwimana, to strengthen a positive mindset and empathy.

Why learn sign language?
✅ To include those we cannot hear.
✅ To break the loneliness of our deaf brothers and sisters.
✅ To build a more humane, more just, more sensitive society.

They are our children, our friends, our colleagues, our loved ones.
It's time to listen to them differently.

🌱 The Agriculture of Tomorrow is Learned Today at the Free Weekend Academy in Kisumu! 🌱

A good fighter takes care of his weapon. In the same way, our future Smart Agriculture experts cherish and maintain their open-air laboratory: their vegetable garden.

These photos capture the commitment and determination of our students in action. Here, there's no theory without practice! They apply the concepts learned in class to care for a diversity of vegetables, learning about growth cycles, water management, and agroecology.

This garden is much more than just a plot; it's the training ground where innovative ideas and future bountiful harvests grow.

Orientation Day at Great Lakes University of Kisumu ✨

August 28, 2025, will remain a special date! 🌍 Hundreds of beginning students had the joy of receiving profound teachings from Rev Pastor Uwimana, the director of International Youth Fellowship KISUMU branch (IYF KISUMU ), during GLUK's orientation day.

With the inspiring theme "Antibodies of the Heart," the message opened a new perspective: protecting the hearts of young people from negative thoughts and cultivating inner strength to face life's challenges. 💡❤️

This meeting illustrates the wonderful friendship between IYF and Great Lakes University of Kisumu. Moreover, it demonstrates the IYF's determination to stand alongside young people as a strong mentor in mindset education—to form a confident, disciplined generation ready to transform the world. 🌱🌟
