Day One: Eco-Brick Production Theoretical Training
On 18th June, Impact Smart CBO participated in a theoretical training on Eco-Brick Production under the theme Resilient Pathways: Empowering Communities Amid Climate Mobility.
The training brought together participants from various Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and community stakeholders committed to environmental sustainability and climate action.
This important initiative was funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark and implemented by Dreams Redefined Organization in support of community-centered climate resilience and environmental sustainability programs. The primary objective of the project was to equip representatives from participating organizations with the knowledge and skills required to become Trainers of Trainers (ToTs), enabling them to transfer the acquired knowledge to their respective organizations and the wider community.
The Eco-Brick Production training provided valuable insights into the concept and importance of eco-bricks, the characteristics of a standard eco-brick, materials required, essential tools, safety precautions, and the step-by-step eco-brick production process. Participants gained practical knowledge on sustainable waste management solutions that contribute to environmental conservation while creating opportunities for community empowerment.
Through this initiative, participants are now better positioned to champion environmental stewardship, promote sustainable waste management practices, and strengthen community resilience in the face of climate-related challenges.

At this inspiring event themed “Growing the Future: Soil Health for Sustainable Systems, Agroecology, and AI/Data-Driven Innovation for Youth and Community Empowerment,” Impact Smart CBO proudly showcased the power of nature through our diverse herb,from sage and oregano to rosemary and lemon balm.
These simple, natural plants represent more than just flavor and fragrance; they are a step toward healthier soils, sustainable livelihoods, and empowered communities. Through agroecological practices, innovation, and knowledge sharing, Impact Smart CBO believes that youth can lead the way in building resilient food systems.
Together, we are cultivating not just herbs, but hope, sustainability, and a greener future.

The Impact Smart project started at Nanga Senior School with an opening classroom session. Students actively participated, asked questions, shared ideas, and showed excitement as they began their journey with the project. Today, Impact Smart CBO had a productive conversation with the team from Wildlife Clubs of Kenya and a prospective partner from the institution regarding our project work plan. We are encouraged by their positive response and willingness to support the initiative.

This powerful platform, initiated by Shining Hope for Communities (SHOFCO), brings together community-based organizations from across the globe to collaborate, share experiences, and drive collective action. Being part of GAC recognizes the strength of grassroots leadership and provides an opportunity to amplify the voices of our communities while fostering meaningful regional and international partnerships.
