One day.
Different partners.
Countless smiles💙.

The ‘Keep a Child in School’ community outreach was a massive success bringing people together with a shared purpose of lasting impact💯. KCBO was honored to join this great initiative spending a wonderful time with the learners delivering empowering sessions on SRHR, drug abuse awareness and a practical entrepreneurial skill of detergent making.

Thanks to the generous support of the , the girls also received reusable sanitary pads which will go a long way to ensure that menstruation is never a barrier to their education and giving them a chance to stay in school with dignity and confidence.

To our wonderful host and incredible partners & , volunteers, teachers and learners of Anding’o Opanga School- thank you for having us on board and making this possible.

📚 Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

At Kano Community-Based Organization (KCBO), we believe that keeping children in school goes beyond the classroom—it means creating supportive environments where they can access education, health information, dignity, and hope for a brighter future.

We're excited to partner with Rotaract Club of Kisumu Winam, Mwangaza Empowerment Network and The Grace Cup for the "Keep a Child in School" Community Outreach.

Together, we'll be engaging students through:
🌱 Tree Planting
🩸 Reusable Pads Donation
💬 SRHR Education
🧼 Detergent Making
🚫 Drug Abuse Awareness

📅 Date:18th July 2026
📍 Venue:Anding'o Opanga Secondary School, Nyakach

This is more than an outreach—it's an investment in the next generation. Together, we can empower learners, strengthen communities and create lasting impact.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
For many of us, those dreams began with a simple classroom conversation.

We found ourselves at answering this question on our ongoing mentorship series at Kandaria Primary school. As learners confidently shared their dream professions, one thing became clear: every dream deserves encouragement, guidance and someone who believes in it.

Whether it’s becoming a doctor, a teacher, dancer, pilot or an entrepreneur today’s aspirations can become tomorrow’s reality when young people are given the right support and opportunities.

Here’s to empowering futures of possibility and purpose 🎉.

📢 YOUR VOICE MATTERS, KISUMU!

The Kisumu County Assembly has opened public participation on two important proposed laws:

📚 The Kisumu County Education and Social Protection Fund Bill, 2026 – seeking to establish a legal framework to support vulnerable learners and advance the right to education.

⚖️ The Kisumu County Gender and Equity Bill, 2026 – aimed at promoting gender equity, institutionalizing gender-responsive governance, and ensuring equitable access to opportunities and services across Kisumu County.

🗣️ Participate. Engage. Be heard.
Together, let’s shape a more inclusive and equitable Kisumu for all.

Today, we commemorate the Day of the African Child by honoring the courage, resilience and aspirations of children across our continent.

At Kano Community-Based Organization (KCBO), we believe every child has the right to quality education, protection, participation and opportunities to realize their full potential. Let us continue building communities that listen to children, uphold their rights and nurture their dreams.

Official Mentorship Rollout🎊.

KCBO officially begins the EduEmpower mentorship program at Nduru Group of Schools and Kandaria Comprehensive School. We are excited to walk alongside learners as we create safe spaces for growth, confidence and meaningful dialogue beyond the classroom.

Sometimes, all it takes is one conversation, one mentor or one opportunity to change how learners sees their futures.

Last week reminded us why spaces of mentorship, collaboration and community matter. Through our visits to Nduru Group of Schools and Kandaria Comprehensive school, we shared ideas, listened to their needs and envisioned what stronger support for the learners could look like within our communities.

Every discussion pointed to one thing: young people and learners need spaces where they feel seen, supported, inspired and empowered to dream bigger🌟.

As KCBO continues building through EduEmpower, we are excited for the impactful mentorship journeys, partnerships and learner-centered initiatives ahead.

Inequality and poverty remain pressing challenges both globally and locally, shaping access to opportunities, resources and dignity for millions especially young people.

At Kano Community-Based Organization (KCBO), we are intentional about contributing to spaces that drive meaningful dialogue and youth-led solutions. We were represented by our Team Lead at the Youth-led Global Citizenship for Reducing Inequality and Poverty workshop by Kind Heart Organization Kenya.

The engagement brought together young people and stakeholders to reflect on these issues and co-create practical, community-driven responses.

When young people come together to reflect and act, change doesn’t just feel possible—it begins.
