Pendeza Weaving Project was started to tackle poverty and unemployment among slum dwellers and persons infected with HIV through skills empowerment, crocheting, spinning, weaving and tailoring in Kisumu and expanded to rural Bondo in 2006 Pendeza Weaving Project is a community based cottage industry founded by William and Margaret in the year 1980 with the aim of improving the living conditions of the poor farmers in western Kenya region through promotion of farm to shop strategy as a value chain in cotton farming. The organization is engaging rural women and youths with technical/practical skills on hand spinning and weaving to earn a living by producing 100% hand woven skin friendly and durable cotton fabrics.
