MOTIVATION MONDAY:WHY HYGIENE IS YOUR BEST PREVENTIVE MEDICINE
Happy Monday! As we kick off a fresh week, it's the perfect time to reset our habits. While we often think of health in terms of doctor visits and medicine, the most powerful shield we have against illness is completely i our hands-literally.
Good hygiene isn't just about looking or smelling clean; it is a foundational pillar of preventive health. By practicing consistent hygiene, you actively block pathogens ( bacteria, viruses, and parasites) from entering your body, saving you time, money, and discomfort.
3CORE HYGIENE HABITS TO FOCUS O THIS WEEK
1. Hand hygiene: The 20-second rule
Always wash before preparing food, before eating, after using the restroom, and immediately after coughing or sneezing.
2. Respiratory Hygiene: Protect the collective
Good health is a community effort. Respiratory hygiene prevents the airborne spread of droplets that carry colds, flus, and other respiratory tract infections.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or the bend of your elbow-never your bare hands. Dispose of used tissues immediately and wash your hands.
3. Food and Water Hygiene: Prevent typhoid and cholera
Contaminated food and water are leading causes of foodborne illnesses and diarrheal diseases, which can severely impact nutrition and physical energy.
Hygiene is a small action that yields massive results for our community's productivity and well being. Let's practice prevention this week!
