Kakang'utu social justice center and The Kisumu Environmental champions today marked International Youth Day at Rotary vocational training in partnership with other CSO'S .

Theme : Green skills for Youths towards a sustainable world 🌎.

Green skills are relevant for people of all ages but have heightened importance of the younger generation who can contribute to the green transition for a longer period of time .

Our Kisumu Environmental champions and our climate justice champions from Kakang'utu social justice center today advocated for climate actions by the use of Climate clock and SDG ball.

Let's restore our fresh water Lake Victoria by joining the campaign

🌍💔For the first time the clock ticked down below 6 years showing the urgency to cut down emissions and to tackle climate change .In Kisumu we combined direct action and approach demanding urgency to tackle climate crisis. Locally we also raised awareness on saving Lake Victoria which is a source of livelihood ;foid and water within the lake basis. is a stark reminder of the urgency we face to tackle climate change which affects everyone, but it hits the most vulnerable the hardest. Let's show compassion and take action to build a world that leaves no one behind.

We enlightened to attend a debrief session as Kakangutu Social Justice Center to reflect , rethink and get some to unwind from our work in the community as Women Human Right Defenders

Kakangutu.Kabondo social justice center is community based organization.with 3 main objectives
1. Climate resilience and adaptation
2.Human right defence
3.Women Empowerment
Vision :promoting the culture of justice in our community by making local defenders of their own rights and community's.
Mission: Creation of a community free from any human rights violation and uniting the struggles of young people to strengthening their solidarity towards addressing the social/economic challenges.
Under the objectives we shall have various programmatic agendas which would vary from time to time.
Under climate resilience and adaptation,: we shall have various programmatic activities which will vary from time to time for instance;
*Climate action
*Environmental Justice
*Food security
*Environmental Justice
Human rights;
*Fight against G.B.V
*Child rights
*Mental wellness
*Menstrual health
Women empowerment
We shall implement programmes as they come but majorly
*Financial independence for young mothers
*Gilrchild mentorship
*Women in politics
We shall also try to implement talent search programs for kids in school.

The project is initiated by an upcoming motivated human rights defender in Kabondo kasipul and aiming at spreading to the larger parts of homabay county as a whole.
