Tragedy has struck along the shores of Lake Victoria in Kisumu after the body of an unidentified woman was recovered from the water.
Preliminary reports indicate that she had been dropped off by a motorcycle before allegedly climbing an unfinished building near the lakeshore (formerly Lwang’ni Beach), where she is believed to have fallen into the lake.
The body has since been moved to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary as investigations continue.
Authorities are urging anyone with a missing loved one to visit the facility for possible identification.

This bridge in Railways Ward has been ignored despite repeated calls for urgent intervention. Sammy Onyango has so far refused to champion the allocated resources needed for its repair. This is a dangerous bridge that has already claimed lives, yet County Government structures have not responded adequately, even as the public unites to demand action. It is high time Railways Ward prioritizes leadership that takes residents’ safety seriously, works in coordination, and addresses critical infrastructure without delay.

*Celebrating Women on International Women’s Day*

Mission Of Love Support CBO in partnership with White Horse Foundation and brought smiles to many women during the celebration of International Women’s Day.

The event created a safe space for dialogue on issues surrounding Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), where women were able to share experiences, learn about their rights, and discuss ways to strengthen protection and support systems within the community.

In addition, the partners extended their support by distributing foodstuffs to women, helping ease some of the economic challenges many families face.

It was truly a wonderful and impactful moment—one that promoted dignity, solidarity, and empowerment for women in the community

We had the great honor of welcoming one of our esteemed partners, who spent meaningful time engaging with women at the grassroots level on matters of justice, learning, and unlearning.
We are truly delighted that our women greatly benefited from her visit, especially through the valuable knowledge and practical skills shared on farming. Her presence inspired growth, empowerment, and renewed commitment among the women.
