The TB fraternity is mourning.

We have lost one of the most dedicated members of the TB programme, Drusilla Nyaboke, who tragically lost her life in a road accident along the Nairobi–Nakuru highway.
Many of you may have known Drusilla through her dedicated service to the TB response. Her commitment, professionalism and contribution to the programme will be deeply missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, colleagues and everyone who knew and worked with her.
Her daughter, together with other occupants of the vehicle, survived the accident but are reportedly in critical condition and are receiving treatment at Kijabe Hospital.
Let us keep them in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
May Drusilla Nyaboke’s soul rest in eternal peace. 🕊️
Rest well, Drusilla. Your service to the TB fraternity will not be forgotten.

When one health care worker is expected to be clinician, pharmacist, TB/HIV provider, midwife and facility in charge, a “health system” becomes a one-person operation. The ongoing strike by nurses in Kenya has exposed the dangerous fragility of Level 2 and 3 facilities and the urgent need to rethink HIV/TB integration beyond simply piling responsibilities onto one health care worker. Integration must mean resilient teams and continuity of care, not one health care worker carrying an entire health system.
