Eligible youths from Kolwa East aged (18-35) years are encouraged to register in the link below, for a Life Skills Workshop happening on Friday 24th, at Angola Hall. This registration will ensure participation, and the processing of transport reimbursement for each registered participant. Ladies are more encouraged to register.

This initiative dubbed Learning for Life program, will be fully supported by African Initiative for Rural Development (AiRD) and East African Breweries Limited (EABL), in collaboration with Milimani United Community Empowerment and Youth Action Kolwa East.

Yesterday we were honored by a courtesy call by Milimani United Community Empowerment (MUCE), a youth organization from Kolwa Central Ward. This visit came ahead of the upcoming life kills training for Kolwa East & Kolwa Central youths, which will be held at Rarieda, Renja, Angola, and Rae, from April 21st - 24th.

This initiative targets 500 youths, and will be supported by African Initiative for Rural Development (AiRD) and East African Breweries Limited (EABL), which is implementing 'Learning for Life' program in Kisumu East sub county.

We will be partnering with MUCE to ensure proper coordination for the success of this initiative, and to ensure our young men and ladies gain access to this training, which will be well facilitated by the conveners.

Other discussions majored around future partnerships in civic engagements between our two wards, in ensuring an informed, accountable and responsible youthful population.

We are partnering with Come Initiative Organization this April holiday to bring football tournament for both ladies and boys to Kolwa East Ward, begining on 24th April 2026.

The theme of this holiday tournament is 'Youth Empowerment', which resonates with one of our thematic areas. Engaging our young people during the holidays ensures that they stay away from petty crimes, build on their talents, connect and share experiences, and keeps them entertained for awards.

Let's come together to ensure its success.

We conducted civic education for Mayenya and Buoye youths at Angola and Orongo respectively, on governance and leadership. Youths are key stakeholders in community development. This initiative aims to equip the young people of Kolwa East with skills for effective engagement in governance and leadership in the community.

This training was convened in partnership with the World Vision Kenya.

Yesterday we conducted capacity building training at Angola Health center boardroom for Kolwa East market committee members on environmental conservation and waste management.

The objective of this training was to promote sustainable environmental practices and effective waste management in our markets, and to enhance a clean and healthy trading environment. We concluded the training by planting a few seedlings within Angola market compound.

This initiative was convened in partnership with Homeless of Kisumu (HoK) and Green world Advocates.

Today we convened a mental health sensitization meeting at Angola Health center boardroom for Kolwa East youths, with an aim of reducing stigma, and provide support and information for young people struggling with mental health issues.

The session provided a supportive environment for the young people to share and connect.

This initiative was supported by Tinada Youth Action Africa.

We participated in a session organized by the Youth Plug Organization in the city of Kisumu.

The session brought together young leaders and civil society organizations from across western Kenya, equipping them with the knowledge and skills, to be able to make informed decisions, in order to transform their communities.

We are currently participating in Regional Youth Capacity Strengthening Forum convened by the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, and International Republican Institute. The program draws youths from Kisumu, Siaya and Homabay counties.

The main objective of this initiative is to encourage young people to view political parties as effective platforms for driving change.
