Today marked the end of the 16 Days of Activism — and also Human Rights Day. As we close this campaign, we’re reminded that the fight against Gender-Based Violence does not end here.

Every day is a call to defend human dignity, amplify voices, and create safer spaces for all — including our growing digital world.

Let's keep;
✅️ Reporting abuse.
✅️ Standing up for survivors.

Violence has no place in our homes, communities, or digital platforms.

Today is Day 4 of the 16 Days of Activism.
This year's theme is 'UNITE To End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls '

When we talk about digital violence, what do you really understand? 🤔
For many, it sounds far-fetched until it happens to you. Yes, it’s happening every day.
Women and girls face online harassment, abusive messages, cyberbullying, stalking, threats, and the non-consensual sharing of their images.
This is digital violence. It wounds confidence, destroys dignity, and pushes many into silence and depression.

Our digital spaces must not become new battlegrounds for gender-based violence.🙅‍♀️🙅
As we mark these 16 days, let’s raise our voices and take action.

Let’s educate, report harmful behaviour, call out online abuse, and create safe, respectful digital communities.

Safeguarding women and girls online is a responsibility we all share.
Let’s stand together — in every comment 🖥 every post, 📱 every platform — to build safer digital spaces for all. 👍

We're thrilled to recover our page and reconnect with our amazing community! 💛 😅

As we return, we want to join the global movement for change: the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, running from 25th November to 10th December 2025. This year’s theme is:
“UNiTE! Activism to End Violence Against Women and Girls.”

This is a time to stand together, raise our voices, and take action to protect women and girls in our communities. 💪💜

Here’s how we can all make a difference:

✅ Educate ourselves and others about the causes and consequences of gender-based violence.

✅ Support survivors by listening, believing, and connecting them to services - Don't judge, listen.

✅ Challenge harmful norms in our families, schools, and communities.

✅ Promote equality—ensure girls and women have access to education, opportunities, and safe spaces.

✅ Speak out against violence whenever and wherever you see it.

At Pendo Tendo Initiative, we are committed to creating safe, informed and empowering communities for women and girls. Together, we can build a future free from fear and full of opportunity. 🌟

💬 Join us in this movement! Share your stories, spread awareness, and take action today!

Every child has the right to an education. We at Pendo Tendo are committed to ensure that vulnerable children in our community are able to access education and other personal development opportunities, thus investing in their potential such that they are able to influence positive change at their homes and the community. It's such a joy seeing children happy and hopeful, thanks to our friends from the Railway Training Institute who equipped 9 amazing children with full school uniform, a full stationery set, a personal hygiene hamper and committed to settling their school fees! Truly a blessing! What a way to attract blessings!

Through our ZIMA Program, we aim at ensuring the reintegration of dropped-out children, both boys and girls aged 8-17 years and promote their well-being and holistic growth to inspire leadership in each one of them.

As the world marked the International Day of the Girl Child yesterday themed at 'Girls' vision for the future, we took time to engage some girls in our program as we got to understand wherr they see themselves in the near and distant future.

Every girl deserves to live in a safe, equal and inclusive world. We join hands with similarly driven organizations and stakeholders in empowering our girls, addressing challenges like harmful traditions, discrimination and violence in our communities to ensure every girl has an opportunity to thrive individually and inspire others. An empowered girl is a powerful woman in the making. And yes, she can do anything!

Girls' power!!!

Yesterday was an interesting day with a celebration combo. As we engaged in conservation talks with community actors to commemorate Mazingira Day , we also kept in mind the sensitivity of mental wellness, celebrated annually on 10 October as World Mental Health Day!

Through our talent incubation, we engage the youth with an aim to foster mental wellness among other reasons. We recognize the vital role that psycho social support plays especially among children survivors of traumatic experiences, as well as youth.

We encourage anyone feeling low today to hold on to hope and keep moving forward. Also, it is always best to find a confidant and speak up when troubled. It works wonders!

Remember, you're amazing!!❣️

'Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world'
~Nelson Mandela.

Education remains the strongest and most effective tool in addressing societal challenges around the world. Leave alone the employment aspect, education sharpens the mind and unlocks an individual's thinking, reasoning and creativity. As an organization, our keen focus on availing quality education opportunities for vulnerable children in Kajiado promises to unlock amazing possibilities for children, enabling them to pursue and achieve even their most scary dreams. We believe in fostering leadership from childhood by inspiring children's present to secure their futures and those of their communities.
Over the weekend, we received a group of friends from the Railway Training Institute who got to engage with a team of 9 beneficiaries in our education program alongside their parents. Our partnership will facilitate school re-entry for 5 children and support 4 continuing students at both primary and junior secondary school level. Poverty was cited as the main contributor to their dropping-out of school/missing class alongside other challenges ranging from child labor, gender-based violence, loss of parents, neglect and family issues.

We also got to engage a group of over 120 girls from Kimana Comprehensive School (JSS level) on Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights, focusing on menstrual hygiene and awareness. The climax of the activity ended with a donation of sanitary towel packs to each of the girls, also urging them to educate their peers and support each other.

All children deserve a chance at shaping their own lives. It is everyone's collective responsibility to safeguard, empower and mould children in the best way possible, unlocking leadership potential in each. Let's rid our communities of poverty. This, is our charge!

EXCITING NEWS!!!!

For the past few weeks, we've had the priviledge of engaging with a key regional actor in the fight for gender equality in Africa, which is in line with our mandate to promote gender equality in our local communities targeting every individual's effort in the fight against poverty.
After a thourough process, we are honored to announce that our organization has been selected as a new member organization of The Alliance For Women & Girls Network (AFWAG Network). This is a UK-based network hosting 81 organizations from over 20 African countries, all working to advance gender equality for women and girls across Africa.

We look forward to contributing positively to the network's growth and impact as we also access the vast pool of learning, networking, partnership and organizational support opportunities.

Human is human. All persons deserve to be treated with respect, leading dignified lives and accessing opportunities like any other person.
